Turning my HEPA into a flow hood?

Ok, just an idea, but I have this HEPA filterhttp://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100060599&N=10000003+10401010 It has three blower settings, L, M, H. Can I make a box to fit the hepa, on it's side, and effectively make a flow hood for Petri work and other odds and ends?

This thread gets repeated at least once per week. You can't make a flowhood from a home depot hepa filter. Don't be fooled by the word 'hepa'. Laminar flow is what's required for a flow hood, and you don't get it from one of those cheap things. RR

I didn't call it a flow hood, the seller did. Laminar was in quotes to be a sarchastic remark. You know, like, hey man "good" post? lol
Could I use something like this http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=193370-79-30940&lpage=none to make a flow hood?

What about using that filter and a shop vac? I would obviously have to use some type of air diffuser to stop turbulant air, but I don't have a blower. I do have a small shop vac though.
Say I put some type of prefilter material over the end of the vac hose (on blow of course), to stop turbulant air and then had the HEPA filter built into a box to which the vac hose was connected?

Ok, I just read a post about laminar flow. I get it now. The thing is, I can get those hunter filters for pretty cheap. COudl I get like 5 of them, silicone them together to make one LARGE filter and go from there with the project?
THey list for $50, but my buddy can get them to me for $10 each. I don't ask him how, but he works at lowes............
