TIT Method help
    #7977701 - 02/04/08 01:36 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I have 2 rubbermade (non transparent) tubs. Also a 50 watt fully submersible aquarium heater.I'm using pf tek and my jars are all different dates and stages of growth, never got as far as birthing before contam or something went wrong. Anyway, I'm thinking of transferring the jars into an incubator.

1.Do I need to sterilize them or wipe the tubs
2.What should I do?

Also, A couple I think are fully covered in myc on all sides, does that mean there ready to be fruited? I have a new 10 gallon glass tank and some perlite, I also have peat moss for some odd reason.

1.Anyone use glass aquarium and know how to sterilize the perlite and what not, should I just put saran wrap over it?

Clean the tubs with 91% alcohol and allow to evaporate.

You don't have to clean the perlite at all, just hydrate properly.

There is no need for a heater, room temp is fine for the entire cycle, IMHO.

Wait until they are 100% colonized, then an extra week before birthing.

Don't cover the perlite, it should be open to air on all sides and fluffed up, not packed down.

Wont a heater speed up colonization though?

And what is this i hear about dunking, any one?????

I have to coat the perlite in water though correct and then put the suran wrap over the top of the glass terrarium, right?
