At The Drive In > Sparta + Mars Volta combined.

Since At The Drive In > Sparta, and combining the Mars Volta with anything automatically brings the value down, I'd say your inequality is pretty damn accurate.

I saw Sparta open for The Killers. They were amazing and I wholeheartedly support your statement, jew. In fact, I feel as if The Killers should have opened for Sparta, and the other band, Cartel, should have been set aflame and thrown into the mosh pit for the idiots to stomp out.
But, eh, we all have opinions.

The Killers should be opening for Linkin Park on tours of 200 capacity venues in podunk backwoods towns and never heard from again.

They're both formed by members of At the Drive In.

i saw sparta live shortly after the atdi breakup, was not impressed and haven't kept up with their music at all really.
the best part of atdi (cedric & omar) formed volta, which is good.

Yeah The Mars Volta is one of the best, most complex bands there is right now. They're just so fucking good it's mindblowing. Sparta is just some meh band, and At the Drive In is a very good band, but not as good as MV.

God, everything after De-Loused is absolute shit. Vocals can get extremely fucking annoying at times to. And dear lord their live show SUCKED. A huge reason I don't even listen to them anymore in all honesty. It was pure fucking noise, absolutely horrid, I'm utterly amazed I hear people talk about how good their live show was, I can't think of one good thing to say about it.
Sorry.
