BAM - I'm soaked with sweat.

So since I live in New England and nights are sometimes chilly, I wear pajamas or some type of clothing and have a heavy blanket over me. Usually this works out fine, because I am perpetually cold. However the past few nights I've been waking up SOAKED with sweat. Last night I had to change my clothes FOUR TIMES because I was just dripping. Gross, huh? I am contributing this to a few things, or all of the above:
1. I quit marijuana two days ago 2. I am detoxing 3. I'm too hot at night? But usually I feel cold 4. Intense dreams
So yeah. I've lived my entire life without sweating like this. Any advice? I'm just going to continue as I am and see if it clears up in a week or so.

Weird. Well if you feel cold at night but you think you might be to hot, maybe it's that different parts of your body are being exposed to different temperatures (or its overall temperature is fluctuating widely overnight) and this is fucking with your body's heating/cooling system. Good luck keepin' it in the warm happy medium.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I have had this same problem as you, but for a long time... I would wake up most nights drenched in sweat. It was so bad I might have to change clothes or just get frustrated and strip down to my boxers. Even if I was only covered in a sheet and the room temp is around 68F. Like you, I also had intense dreams pretty much every night and could never get a good night's sleep. However, I was also eating opiates almost everyday, along with drinking a few times a week and smoking everyday. Currently, I dont have this problem anymore (I dont eat opiates much anymore, and I dont drink nearly as much), but from the research I have done online, I think it is related to either drinking before going to bed, or to opiate withdrawl symptoms... Hope this helps... and good luck!

Damn same thing was happening to me about 2 weeks ago, I would wake up in the middle of the night and peel my sweat drenched clothes off, it was hard to go back to sleep too because the sheets would also be drenched, also noticed that during the day I'd either feel way too hot or I'd have really bad chills. Eventually (about a week) other symptoms started showing up like horrible sore throat (swollen tonsils) and nausea, so I went to the doc and it was mono.
Intense night sweating like that is often an indication of something serious. My only advice would be to get checked out as soon as you can because I really wish I had gone to the doc earlier than I did. Currently I can hardly breathe, haven't eaten/slept in 4 days, and my throat is in unbearable pain. I've been getting strep and tonsilitis at least once a year since my earliest memories and nothing compares to this kind of throat pain, have actually considered suicide a few times now. Good luck.
