contam or primordia? update : a few days later
    #7975633 - 02/03/08 10:12 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

i started to see a few dark yellow spots and other bumps/knots on the mycellium that look out of the ordinary...check it out, its just above where it says ball on the jar

p.s. im positive its not myc piss because it is sticking out from the cake

after 3 more days in the incubator i looked at them and they look exactly like primordia, but there are no reddish spots for the heads. it is all one color and only on one spot of the cake.. anybody know whats up with it or had this happen before?

i agree it appears to be, time will tell.then im guessing and we all know how i feel about guessing. but thats what you want hun. and i don't know if those pics would allow to see anything that would truly allow us to make an opion, but let us know in a week

I never guess. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

looks like mycellial waste. a product of digesting and metabolizing the grain. it might collect at the base of the jar, in yellow and brown puddles, and is perfectly healthy.
