Mushroom medicine
    #7969747 - 02/02/08 05:51 PM (16 years, 17 days ago)

over the years i have developed a very strong relationship with the mushroom.
its evoved from wonder, to intepid phschedilc experimentation, on word to self medication and im sure several other plataus or stages in my life. and now with close to 200 mushroom trips under my belt i think i have finnaly settled into the "sacred" soil stage.

i put sacred in quotes cus one thing mushrooms have made clear to me is nothing is sacred. no thing

if its a thing, a noun or an idea, even a verb or an adjective. its not sacred
its just a word, a grunt
anything, intangible, anything you cannot talk about. is sacred.

thats what music, creation and life are all about. just letting yourself flow back into the sacred. dont speak. dont worry.

also "sacred" means so many things to so many people its futile to try and wrap any real true meaning around it

is a cross sacred?
are books?, a river, a mountain?

a song?

a pile of wood chips?

i have always been a thinker. i have a inpecable memory, and i have a very visual head. since a very early age i have struggled with my head.
somtimes things dont add up and i feel as if im going to boil over

the choas of it all becomes too abrasive to bare.  iv gone through several bouts of depression, suicidal periods and such

all that i can really say is mushrooms have always been there for me. since the very first time i invited them into my body my life has taken on new form.
new purpous

please respect and honor the medicine

it can do a world of good

I don't know but I've been told. It's hard to run with the weight of gold                                                                  On the other hand I heard it said. It's just as hard with the weight of lead.

Yeah, nice post. Although I feel the mushroom has taught me everything is sacred. But same difference...
I do feel that the mushroom is a medicine, and I generally use it in low doses which I feel has a more beneficial effect for me than a larger dose. Actually I like to take a lot of acid if I feel the need for an "out there" trip.

p.s. pillow are you going to the dead/obama thing? someone should miracle you a ticket. it's gonna be awesome

Mushrooms gave me an intense appreciation for life that I didn't even know existed.

It's weird, before I ever did psychedelics I never imagine being on the level they are. I thought they were all about visuals. I had no idea the substance and understanding they packed.

Nice post by the way.

I would definitely agree. I appreciate everything so much more after having done mushrooms. I'm such a more calm and patient person now, and I don't take things for granted nearly as much as I used to. They've also made me much more compassionate and understanding of others. I love mushrooms

magic mushrooms as medicine, is really something that will never be explained in modern science, their effects are broadly mysterious and it is hard for me to say if they really do anything definable for the people who eat them... though they do effect people to some degree, much like eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch will effect someones day. the one thing about Psilocybin in modern medicine that i can think of at the moment is their possibilities of treating cluster headache sufferers. i would like to believe that Psilocybin is useful in psychedelic psychotherapy, but i am not a doctor or a psychologist/hypnotherapist, though i asked one about that subject and he said that they could be useful tools in most cases (though not the slightest bit required)

medicinal mushrooms are slowly (very slowly) being researched in western medicine, though they have been used for milleniums in most parts of the world, China in particular. and i believe they work.

i have heard that placebo's are the most effective natural "drugs", so long as a person actually "believes" that the placebo is working. even better then that is a placebo that has actually been proven to work (it helps people believe it even more)

i assume that the most useful mushrooms in modern medicine are probably the ones that are deadly-poisonous. there is a great amount of potential discoveries hidden in those types of mushrooms, but have (amazingly) never been researched as much as they should be, yet. essentially (in a way), finding useful cures for diseases by studying poisons is termed pharmacology.

indeed. the mushrooms very bio chemical structure is somthign very underutilized. for construction, insilation, and modern science at large.

but your right the idea is spreading.

all my psychologists and theropists have always cautioned me agains blowing my top so to speak. untill the last guy i went to. a very level headed dude, he too tripped, on mushrooms and cacti. but he treats the in a much more disiplined way than I.

he kinda was the resson i graduated high school insted of going completly insain

western medicin. psychology inparticual has doen nothing but hurt mr.

that is not to say it cannot, nor has not worked for many people..

but after going to see about half a dozen diffrent people in sweater vests, all prattlign on as if from a text book i realise dthere was alot left to uncover and the only person who could do it wa sme. i was no gonna find peace sitting at the end of a couch

Great post, it makes me happy to hear things like that.

Mushrooms have helped me become a more balanced and stable person, without loosing my passion for life.

They have showed me many things, but above all strengthen connection with the Earth and all things.

I like to look at mushrooms the way most people like to look at flowers.
