Become a warlord?
Or become a political/religious leader that will take advantage of desperate people maybe...

The day of the warlords is at its end.
I don't think you can "take advantage" of a global collapse. I think the term would be more 'surviving while maintaining a somewhat stable quality of life'.

of course any excuse is better than none for some people, vilify the victim and everything is OK, right?
Sisken and Bethlehem Steel were both started from a wheelbarrow, a couple guys that picked up scrap metal and recycled it, Apex Supply was similarly founded, 2 brothers refurbished plumbing fixtures and resold them, all 3 are huge companies with thousands of employees.... many large corporations have started in the same way, how's that pyramid looking now?
oh yeah, thieves dont care, they just rip people off

You dirty fucking hippies
Clearly the best way to steal from the government is to invest in some illegal plants, and then distribute them without paying tax and with a nice markup price.
Free money = Free shit
&& I would argue its much less suspicious than physically stealing something from a shop.

the way i look at it, these people at the top of the pyramid get there by exploiting the rest of the world, and i dont want to live like that. i dont want that shit. i dont want a top or a bottom. so im just doing what little i can by biting back.
what, like walmart?
look man, people allowed themselves to be exploited by shopping there, and continue to do so by shopping there. the same applies to any large corporation. they usually start from one or a few stores and grow because people either like them, or they offer something other places don't.

Stealing is relatively easy. Doesn't mean I do it though.
Maybe I should more often, free stuff is always good

I saw someone on an episode of cops in birmingham that I knew she has a very distinctive voice (they blured her face) and she was being stuffed for shoplifting makeup... $30 had her paying out over $2500 in the 2 years she was on probation
I just dont understand where all the free money is coming from with shoplifting

im not thinking that small. im not targeting wal mart, target, virgin, what ever. its the way the whole thing works. society as a whole is enslaved in a system where we work to not only make the quality of life for those whom work a lot less then us. every where around me people are trying to tax me. and then people just feed their money ("representing the value of our work") back into the machine because their left with no other feasible option.

unless it's food for survival, or squatting somewhere, i've never understood the mentality of stealing/not working for what you want or need.
then again, i've never really understood the desire so strong for a material object that one "must have it now"

that's life. part of our animal instincts. there are alpha-males, and then there aren't.

for me, it was selling the goods. not to mention the money i saved from not having to buy things i stole.
but a good rule of thumb is to stop when your ahead...otherwise it's not going to be worth it.
no doubt that i've made/saved over $10,000 in my life from stealing if not $20,000. i have a clean criminal record and i dont steal anymore.

Thats what drives the debt industry. Loan some money now and buy expensive designer furniture to impress the Joneses. Never mind your furniture you have now is fine, throw it out and buy new stuff because your old stuff just ain't hip anymore.
If you want further proof consumerism has gone berserk, look in a second hand store and be appalled how much of it literally is "as good as new" but the previous owner ditched it on their endless quest of attaining happiness through buying new stuff.
And stealing makes one a thief, end of story
