When ever I become a parent I would NEVER look through my kids room.

As long as there doing fairly good in there schooling its not a huge deal what there doing on weekends to me.

I would rather they say. Hey dad Im going to try these things so I know what they could be getting into.

Yeah, it might seem like an invasion of privacy, but actually... Oh wait, no, that IS an invasion of privacy.

Yeah me too. Same with those "abortion pill orgies" I keep hearing about. Why do they need to make up horrible myths about what teenagers are doing? It seems to me that most teenagers these days are pretty cool--from what I've read hard drug use is down, teen pregnancy rates are down, community volunteer work is up, etc.

I find it the pinnacle of ignorance and hypocrisy that the first people to condemn heroin as deadly and addictive after just one use are also the first to beg for more morphine after a bad car accident or during chemo. I would love to be the one to tell them that they are chemically identical once they've entered the brain while they're in the throes of push-button narcotic euphoria in their hospital beds. Do you think they'd be scared shitless of the prospect of being addicted to the morphine after their recovery?

I would be concerned if my kid was taking heroin, but that's because of the lack of information and misinformation potentiated by groups like this and the health risks involved with intervenous use, not because it's addictive after FIRST time use.

I guess these guys are just doing their jobs. You know, America and many other countries revolve around an income, so people pretty much would do anything for money (Write up bullshit articles and release them, do studies against drugs because they know many people will look up to them for the fact that so many people think all drugs are bad, blah blah).

At the same time, I also think these articles are aimed at those people who don't really go on the internet like us and join up with sites like shroomery, weedtalk, erowid, ect... to find more about the drugs they are using. They are aimed at those teens who just want to try drugs a few times and get over it. If they get caught by their parents, thats probably when they will stop, but most of us here are smart enough to get away with anything from our parents because 'we know better'...

Hope that made sense, hehe

The first time you use heroin, youre addicted. LOL.

And pharming parties? What the fuck!?

If any kids do actually do pharming parties, maybe it's a positive thing, you know, use it as natural selection, survival of the fittest, maybe thin out the idiot population a bit.

Who just eats pills? I mean, fuck, there's testing kits for X, and there's pharmer.org for pharms, that way you know if it's ok.

Fucking idiot kids.

parents that snoop through their kids' things really piss me off. their "duty" is to teach their kids what they feel is important, not to keep them shaded from reality and spy on them to make sure they aren't doing drugs. but i'm sure everyone here already knows that. so basically this reply is pointless. but i'm going to post it, anyway.

I typed out a derisive comment against the article and actually got a curious response from some lady... Maybe some good can come of such bad press if it can arouse discussion in people open minded enough to listen...

"How to be a paranoid parent and make your kids hate you 101"

"The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is a dead man. To know that what is impenatrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties - this knowledge, this feeling ... that is the core of the true religious sent iment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself amoung profoundly religious men."

I was going to say the same thing, I don't smoke and I like and listen to Bob Marley. these people are so stupid with some of the stuff they say.

--------------------
"Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window, psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally lay down models of behavior and information processes. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong, and government and society spend a lot of money educating you into being a loyal worker, consumer, debt payer and citizen."

Nothing like a little suspicion and paranoia to help out a parent-child relationship.
