of food that's bad for you.
no pizza. no taco bueno. no cheap chinese takeout. no wendys. no beer. no redbull. no sweets.
pretty much just chicken breast, veggies, organic juices, fruits, and water.
I could really go for a double bacon cheeseburger with chili fries and a chocolate shake.

wow, I'm envious. I'm having a really hard time cutting the coffee, tea & energy drinks from my diet.

Yeah, I know what you mean. All my friends make fun of me for being the organic food eating hippie fellow, but I know they're just jealous!

i'm doing the same thing. pretty much all organic, lots of fruits and veggies, nuts, no milk, no cheese, no milk products, rice milk, hemp milk, hemp seed. i have red meat or chicken maybe once a month now. i'll eat salmon, shrimp, tuna maybe two or three times a week. organic peanut butter. eggs every now and then.
i crave unhealthy food like crazy though and its getting expensive to eat this healthy. i've been craving a big juicy hamburger for awhile now. i think i'll get one to celebrate tomorrow.

oh yeah I feel 100 times better. I seriously used to wake up every morning with a pounding headache... aside from a couple migraines, which I think were "withdrawals" from caffeine, I haven't had a headache since.
My only concern is in a few weeks I'm going to see a friend in Seattle... who isn't exactly the epitome of health. His idea of a diet is to switch to chicken value meals, or a salad with cheese and croutons drenched in ranch and drinking Coke Zero. I tried to tell him the artificial sweetners in diet pops can't be good for you... but it made him REALLY huffy.
So I'll probably find myself in some fast food place, but I'll really try to convince him to go to places that look somewhat healthy in Seattle...

i've been doing this on and off for the past 3-4 years.. it really is a amazing thing to accomplish 100 percent but also extremley difficult with all the temptations of those great tasting junk foods, its ok to go off a couple times a month.. your body needs some bad fats sometimes.. try taking your vitamins at the same time.. you'll feel even more efficient and active/all around healthy.

I know! I want some Redbull SO BAD.
The cravings are still here... being "addicted" to bad food sucks. I mean, I don't want to compare it to being addicted to like Heroin or something... But, we need food to live, it's not like we need three doses of heroin to live. So we MUST eat, and it's hard make right choices when bad ones are cheap, tasty, and we are bombarded with constant advertisements for food... I mean multi-million dollar campaigns for bad food in our faces.
When I was growing up we rarely ate out... and my dad grew a garden every summer, and my mom canned vegetables and made homemade jellies and salsa... and we NEVER had pop in the fridge. The only time there was pop in our house is the few occasions when we would get pizza... and even then we were only allowed one glass. I think my mom just didn't want to deal with hyper kids LOL and we had 13 acres of land to run around on, so I was a pretty fit kid.
it was when I moved out and started getting all the things I never had as a kid when I started to get really out of shape and unhealthy.
blah. reconditioning sucks.

I've been lucky enough to be blessed with a super high metabolism. I can't gain weight no atter how hard I try.
That being said, I wish my metabolism were worse so I'd feel compelled to eat more healthily. Asit stands, I'm super-unhealthy... mostly because of prices, but also simply because old habits die hard.
Best of luck to you in your struggle. I admire your tenacity.

my brother stopped smoking, he put on 50lbs, he decided that fried foods were the culprit so he's decided to eat healthier, his diet now consists of fast food, cheap frozen pizza, candy and until a couple weeks ago cokes.
this is his version of eating healthy

Same thing happened to me. My mom was a total health food nut, hell I didn't even get chocolate much as a child. Everything was carob. When I became an adult and was living on my own I went bananas. Junkfood and CANDY oh god is there some great candy out there. Finally got it out of my system and can take or leave the sweet stuff now.
But I still gotta have my 2 cups of coffee with french vanilla creamer every morning. Seriously, you don't want to see me if I haven't had it.

Where are your complex carbs? Grains, potatoes, rice.. where is it? The simple sugars of the fruit & juices should be balanced with complex carbs.

I'm not surprised. You probably lost some weight, and maybe fluids. If you crave food you gotta eat. Just don't make it McD but have some healthy sandwiches instead. Once your energy needs are met, the McD craving will disappear without having eaten fastfood.
Can you outline what you weigh and roughly eat in a day?
On the Brainiac show they gave one test subject nothing to eat but fastfood for a week, and the other got dogfood. The dogfood guy gained two pounds but the fastfood guy seven pounds. Conclusion: you're better off eating dogfood

I can get organic juice here from walmart supercenters. Or at least it SAYS it's organic. I mostly buy "Simply Orange", but there was some other juice cocktail I tried that was also organic. It wasn't bad, but I still prefer plain OJ.
As for carbs- I have a small amount of brown rice or potatoes or whole wheat pasta or some Triscuits. on days I have to work I eat Lean Cuisines or Healthy Choice meals. I try to find the ones with the least sodium and no preservatives.

I just bought a soymilk machine. You'd be surprised the things you can make "milk" out of.
I've used soybeans, garbanzo beans, jasmine rice, and oats so far. The best blend I've found so far is 45% soybeans, 45% jasmine rice, and 10% oats.
