Do you vote for the greatest good?
    #7969018 - 02/02/08 02:32 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

right, good is subjective... I know.

but do you vote for what you believe will be the greatest good for america (or the world), or do you vote for what you think is the greatest good for yourself?

Im not saying either way is wrong or right... just curious. Some of my staunch republican friends are honest about the fact that they vote solely based on what is going to help them out the most (financially usually).
and everyone knows that the majority of low income people will vote for anyone that is for gov't handouts, so once again it is self preserving agenda.

be honest here.
like I said before, im not saying either way is right or wrong, but I notice that a lot of the Ron Paul supporters believe that he is the greatest good for the world and really arent voting for him based on a self preserving agenda.

just something I noticed.

do these ron paul supporters want an end to the Iraq war?
it's self serving
do they want to limit big government?
also self serving
do they want to abolish the war on drugs?
again, self serving

there are no selfless acts

I vote based on what is good for myself.

The "greater good" is a socialist notion that I reject.

I vote solely for myself. The idea of a greater good is misguided at best because it implies that someone else knows what is good for me.
