viable grow option for cubes?
    #7967930 - 02/02/08 09:05 AM (15 years, 11 months ago)

thinking about trying this out, but just wanted some input. i've seen commercial oyster mushrooms grown this way. they stuff straw and spawn into these huge mesh tubes, wait for them to colonize then hang them in their grow rooms. was going to get some 1 gallon mesh paint strainer bags stuff with past. straw and a couple quarts of wbs spawn. then put them in small trash bags to colonize. once colonized i'll hang them in my martha to fruit. just an idea so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Straw is a wonderful substrate for cubensis- SEARCH straw logs or spawning with straw.

I just posted about exactly this within the last two days. Read around and you'll find it. Works great.
