Hi there everyone,
In the incubation period of my first grow at the moment, got a few questions that I haven't been able to find the answer for with the forum searches:
1. I want to case my cakes from the start, should I still dunk as I was planning or will the verm/casing layer provide enough additional moisture?
2. Im planning on setting uo a few more jars, can anybody recommend a reputable UK spore supplier?
3. I want to try a few different substrates apart from BRF, any suggestions on the next one?
Thanks, sorry if there are some answers out there but I couldn't find them.

yes.. casing will give you a bigger surface area to grow on, and make the substrate deeper which will make bigger fruits...
try coir.. thats what I am trying right now and its working wonders... do a search.. 1 brick of coir is about 3 to 6 bucks, depending on where you go.. Hydroponic shops sell it cheap... the brick is the size of a regular building brick, but expands to 8 times its normal size... it goes a long way, and is loaded with nutrients... except its slightly lacking in nitrogen, but you can fix that with a lil spent coffee grounds.. it seems to really be true, that this is a substitute for poo... grows stupid fast... and hopefully will make some great fruits, once I fill up my martha with 6 casing trays full of the mixture, cased with 100% vermiculite... free spore ring europe is the joint..
casing other substrates works great, like casing rye or bird seed.... I usually case everything.. I havent grown off a cake since I was 14... fuck a cake... what is this? a wedding? haha.. case it and see better results...
and FOR SURE YES dunk your cakes before you break them up for your casing tray... your flushes will thank you
