British born, fabulous Mika! He can do incredible things with his voice...some have said rivaling Freddy Mercury. His debut CD is called 'Life in Cartoon Motion' and it's over the top, fun, gay pop. Not just fashionably gay... disco balls, rainbows, and a great, catchy single about a married man having a gay affair that was refused in US radio.
I saw him live in Toronto tuesday night and I was absolutely blown away. What a fun show! He's so cute! Here is a single that is reminiscent of Fat Bottom Girls. I've been listening to this album all day long. I love Mika!

Love Today, I think this intro is what hooked me in the begining. Mika will be huge... this is his time, for sure.
Lover.

Not a fan from that song. But I might be biased by the song title to be fair.

Unlike many of his pop music contemporaries, he plays the piano beautifully. He deserves success.

The first song reminds me of that fake German music video someone posted.

Sorry, I listened to all of those tracks, but I find it to be really lame.
I like a pretty wide variety of music, obscure and popular, but that is just one artist that I cannot appreciate. He's just overproduced and poppy--I can't see any redeeming elements. It's one thing to be original and make something silly and poppy (like New York City Boy), but it's quite another to imitate that (badly). I just can't get into it. Also, as musician... I'd say that calling his piano playing "beautiful" is a bit of a stretch. "Contrived" would be the word that first springs to my mind.
However, if you truly enjoy his music I don't begrudge you that at all. I'm glad it makes you happy. And I must admit he is better than plenty of artists on the radio today.
