Sounds like you didn't get manure that was composted enough? I don't know much about bulk subs or manure but everything I've read says that when adequately composted; poo smells just like dirt.

He's right, if it smells like shit, it isn't ready for mycology.

There should be near zero smell from any part of growing mushrooms at home.

unless it smells like mushroom mycelium. Like that smell when you crack open a fresh jar of fully colonized rye that was just shaken. MMMMM that smells good

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

You guys said composted poop should smell like dirt. And thats what im saying i have here. A really dirty smell but when you have 4 5 lb bags it can be pretty musty of a smell. Was just seein if anyone had any type of advice.

The only times this hobby puts any smells into my room is when I'm either working with alcohol or fan drying some shrooms.

I just light a stick of incense...it covers up any smells with a smokey smell for at least a day. The problem with incense is that if your worried about...say....your parents, it's usually assumed that incense is there to cover up something that shouldn't be there. Either way it works and schmells gude
