SSRI's are, in my opinion, very dangerous drugs to fuck around with. The withdrawal symptoms can be pretty bad; reactions vary from some reporting increased suicidal thoughts while others complain about "brain zaps" which are basically these electric shocks that one feels inside their skull.. like your brain is being zapped. Scientists don't know what these zaps are at the time, though. Really, SSRI's can have some very bad side effects.

Some withdrawal symptoms of Paxil:
- intense insomnia
- extraordinarily vivid dreams
- extreme confusion during waking hours
- intense fear of losing your sanity
- steady feeling of existing outside of reality as you know it (referred to as depersonalization at times)
- memory and concentration problems
- Panic Attacks (even if you never had one before)
- severe mood swings, esp. heightened irritability / anger.
- suicidal thoughts (in extreme cases)
- an unconventional dizziness/ vertigo
- the feeling of shocks, similar to mild electric one, running the length of your body
- an unsteady gait
- slurred speech
- headaches
- profuse sweating, esp. at night
- muscle cramps
- blurred vision
- breaking out in tears
- hypersensitivity to motion, sounds, smells
- decreased appetite
- nausea
- abdominal cramping, diarrhea
- loss of appetite
- chills/ hot flashes

yeah i would not recommend quitting ssri's cold-turkey, titrate the dose down to nothing, and smoke some bud to help with the withdrawl symptoms.

Those brain zaps are fricken annoying.

Older post, but very relevant for my current experiences. I started on a 10mg dose of paroxetine around 18 months ago, and it worked so well I have remained on the same dose. I recently started micro dosing(1 gram dried cube)after not using psilocybin for many, many years. Potency variances aside, I feel that the visuals are muted from the SSRI. From my past experiences with dried cubes, I used to get much better threshold visuals from a gram as I recall. A few things that may be noteworthy. I still yawn a little at first, and the energy boost sets in around 45 minutes. Insight, and an overall sense of good vibes will persist for a few days afterwards.
