dunking beofre birthing is when you dunk the cake before you put it in the fruiting chamber. cold shokcing is usualy done at the same time as dunking. for eample you put the cake in water then you put it in the fridge for 12 hours. thats dunking and cold shocking.

Just take em, and throw them in tap/bottled water. Your choice. Isnt really that much mystery to it. Coldshocking you put them in your fridge Put your cakes in water as soon as the jar is fully colonized as you think it is time for it to leave its long stay in the jar and go to bigger and better things, you know? It rehydrates the cake that might have lost water in the colonization. You can put it in the fridge to cold shock it, i've done this, and sometimes i dont. I really dont see muich of a difference i guess

so the dunking wont mess up the mycelium. wont it kinda melt the mycellium if the water touches it.sorta like cotton candy..

..I've never heard the similarities of a cake and cotton candy, i think you might have contams.

No. The mycellium are like putty...very interconnected. Just take your cake(s) and put them in a lidded container, fill full with bottled water and put in the fridge for 12 hours. They'll be fine...and you'll see a big difference in the next flush. Do it after each flush to maximize the hydration of the outside of the cakes.

Good luck!

Peace,

Bop

Hey joto, I f this is who I think this is, The mycellium I gave you is in grain form it is not a cake you told me you put in compost. If this is the case you do not want to dunk it you wil end up fucking it up . just keep it covered and when the mycellium over run's the compost cast it and put it in the light and every thing will be fine chief..

when i dunk in a 1to 100 bleach solution my cakes look like really decrepped and like way vermiculite, like the mycellium has died but in a couple days NICE mycelium groth comes out in little blobs all over the cake like dime sizes everwhere and itll all grow back .......then in a few days nice pin formation happens ...really cool
