Interesting, but with coir as cheap as it is, why experiment?

What am I saying, I love experimenting!

These are not organic though, which I insist on for any myco material.

Sounds like a plan. If it's packed really tight, you might want to break it up and mix with a bit of vermiculite to fluff it up.

" Java-Log is comprised of all natural and all renewable waxes, recycled spent coffee grounds and natural binders."

The wax and "natural binders" would make me nervous but without experimentation we never learn new things.

I see no problem with it at all. However, there's only one way to find out. Let us know how it goes.

So i finally got the Java Log..
It says one 5lb log equals 365 cups of spent coffee grounds.
Any tips on how i should go about using this?
i can cut through it with some effort.and the smaller pieces break up fairly easy.
should i try boiling it?

I think I'd break off a chunk, boil and filter. Let us know how it goes for sure.

Looks good, man. I look forward to seeing what kind of results this puts out, because I have a few of these things just sitting around.

100% coffee grounds are great but I strongly suggest mixing with coir and or coir/verm...

Coffee grounds do not retain moisture very well and tend to go dry after 1 or 2 flushes. Dunking doesn't seem to help either.

This is a really cool concept, and I'm curious to see how it goes since I work for a certain Moby Dick referenced giant coffee corporation and have almost unlimited access to spent coffee grounds!!!
