Depends on your definition of "animal".

I don't normally discuss religion with other people because of all the vastly differening views, as well as their strong holds on their opinions, with an unwillingness to be open-minded.

religion was started to answer the questions of our existence... ie. how does rain fall from he sky etc. Then some people start makin bullshit up(there is a god he created us and the universe) they start explaining life by this ( god makes rain) then some peoplestarted claiming they were preachers and they explained unexplainable events by using God... SOme people blew the whole God-thing out of proportion (saying that if you are bad you go to hell and other bullshit like this) little do those faggots know that science can now explain those things now.

your saying people use a blind faith in "GOD" to explain what science cannot prove?

Prove god doesn't exist.

Or do you just have your own blind faiths...?

We are Animals

while included under the kingdom "animalia" we are not "animals" This is opinion of the majority of humans, as YOU are expressing a different human opinion. The truth in question here is the "rightfulness" of human opinion.
So logically, either YOU are wrong, or everyone INCLUDING you is wrong. Either way, to say we are animals is wrong.
Because if we are animals, we can't reason subjectively, that is the distinction. Animals cannot define themselves.
we can, so either we are NOT animals, or we are wrong to say we are.
Either way, You're wrong.

scientifically speaking, were animals, but HAVING science would make us an exception. SOOOO scientifically we are NOT animals.

It is to our own volition to decide the distinction, and that quality makes the choice ultimately wrong.

oh, and there is such thing as religion. in fact there are many of them.

Science is the only true religon of the universe because it is based entirly off of evidence. On the other hand the religions of humans or not based on fact and evidence, they are based completley on something entirlety different. lol something that cannot be proven in anyt way or form... I cannot prove that god doenst exist, but you surely cant prove he does. I am not concerning modern religion, but the beggining of religion ( the puropse of religion)(how it started) it started because humans wanted an answer to the unknown, THAT IS HOW RELIGION WAS BORN , and now look at it now... pretty fucked up aint it?

actually there are pleanty of scientific explanations that render the concept of god obsolete, and I'm not just talking about the big bang.

Quote:

Prove god doesn't exist.

You got us atheists there, we can't completely prove god doesn't exist (except through logic). But I also can't prove that dwarves don't exist, or faeries, or elves, or Santa Clause. Does that mean I should believe in them?

Quote:

Or do you just have your own blind faiths...?

Two things: first, if you actively believe that god doesn't exist, then you do have some faith required. But it certainly isn't blind, as apposed to theism which is almost completely wishful thinking. Second, many atheists don't "believe there is no god," they "don't believe in god." And theres a huge difference. Personally, I classify myself as an atheist agnostic, because I'm technically open to the possibility of god (although all evidence is againt it's existence at this point).

i wasn't denying that,
I was merely pointing out the defining line between "animal" and "human" in human terms.
in spite of the fact that its chemical, it still results in consciousness.

if you deny this, you are wrong, because you cant be right if you're only chemical. your opinion is silly bubbles.
in your own silly bubble definition.

i am not denying our conciousness,
i am just denying that our conciousness isnt anything "higher" or superior
i am basically just saying our consisness isnt above animals, (it is obviously better than animal conciousness in terms of survival) but in the end our condition is no better than any animal's condition and death proves this

our consciousness does not make us "above" animals
it defines us FROM animals.
theres a difference.

a difference that places us in a category other than animals.

for the very term "animals" is MADE from OUR consciousness,
We define them, and ourselves.
That makes us different. we are the beholders, the namers, the categorizers.

we decide the science, the invent it, and we know, that animals don't.

It doesn't make us greater, if anything, it makes us sorta small and insignificant, An animal can be the center of it's own universe....

we have to know that that's simply not the case.
