I have a fluor. light in my FC only because it I'm too lazy to cut the tub and replace it with a clear sheet of plastic its been working out fine for me, a little raise in temp but no biggie as for fire hazard - been using it for a while and havent seen anything go wrong, + I'm home when I turn it on

I have done the same thing and yeah it raised my temps a bit but i think i almost like it better. Did you stick it just straight inside the FC, or did you drill a hole and stick one down like off of the wall or FC Top?

I'm glad someone started this thread. I plan on stacking several monotubs and wasn't sure of a solution on how to get them all lighted evenly. My first thought was to put 18" fluoro's from one of the sponsors on the inside of the lid of each one. But of course I'm worried about humidity, fire hazards and temperatures. Yet I can't think of any other option for even high quality lighting.
Maybe I'll just have to make some shelves in the closet to leave a space above each tub for a light. Thus avoiding having to put one inside. It'll be more work, but should be worth it for the better pinset.

I just stuck the damn thing right on top its propped up diagonally on the top of the FC right below where I put the lid on it was just chance that the size was perfect and is supported by the sides hey I'm happy and I'm getting the best pin set I have ever got with the first time using this method.

I know this is an old thread, but I need to do some obligatory posts after having this account so long. I'm sure I'm going to end up repeating myself if the threads I choose have RR's two cents in them. After lots of reading and my next batch in the works--(3rd;getting better after many corners cut)...I would like to mainly thank RR, headyhempwraps420, and all the other "old-timers" who have the patience to cut through the BS and give a simple answer.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but what I'm doing is putting a stick up LED light in a plastic bag and taping that to the lid.

if the tubs are clear just mount the light on the wall, or find a way to stand it up vertically and place tubs around it, with the light in the middle and let the light shine through the sides of the tubs.
