I concur. Wyatt, you seem to have a few cyans in there also. 1-4 of them

auweia said: wonderful..More people are seeing this now, next to each other. If you can get field photos of them growing next to each other, and even better, try to stick your finger down there and see if the mycelium is connected
This would be hard to do even if it looked like they were connected. I would think one should pay attention to the stem when picked. The cyclones hold on to the wood chips for dear life and the cyans will pull out of the wood chips. Even looking at the wyatt's pics you can see that the stem on the cyan let go of the chips and that the cyclones had to be cut.
here is a lil project that I am working on. 3 strains, 3 areas, we will see what happens in the fall
of course the c,f, and a stand for Cindy,Fred, and Albert

Auweia, those look big! But unless you got them up next to a ruler, i'll never know exactly how big they are.
Checking to see if the mycelium is attached is useless, as they will colonize around each other, each species or strain racing to gain more substrate. There is simply no reliable way to tell what mycelium belongs to which mushroom, when it is in the field like that. Even on a petri dish, it gets confusing. Strains and species will mate unpredictably at times. you could but two strains of the same species on a dish, and they might not grow into each other. I'm not exactly sure what is responsible with compatibility between strains. Something I need to do some more research into.
Oh, and you guys, please stop bickering. Like, just don't talk to each other. It always leads to trouble.

>that can be traced sometimes
Like I said, there is no reliable way to trace the mycelium with certainty.
>I posted this on the off chance that somebody else out there would >see the same thing I've seen before
It wouldn't really matter either way since it isn't reliable. So i mean, it's not like you could make an argument for same or different species using this observation.
