Ok if you have a 2lb mycobag and a 5lb myco bag same substrate would a 5 lb bag really yeild more. Like wouldnt it just take alot longer to colonize and then grow about the same?

more substrate generally means more mushrooms, unless you have no idea what you are doing at all.
if you are just doing a bulk grow the substrate difference would mean bigger mushrooms and prolonged life of your substrate, meaning more flushes.
if you are doing individual casings, its obvious the 5 pounds of colonized substrate would be able to make many more casings than the 2 pound bag. hey, if we do math you could double your casings!

in theory the bigger one would produce more
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

I was just talking about the myco bags because they grow in the bag and can only grow up what would all the extra substrate in the middle be there for if nothin can grow off it? Does that make any sense?

i have no experience with mycobags so that what I say as a grain of salt, but additional substrate generally serves the purpose of supplying more water for your mushrooms. ie. a deeper substrate would result in larger bodied mushrooms.

yes, 5 lbs of substrate will yield more than 2 lbs of substrate
other wise we would all just use a couple of ounces of substrate and grow hundreds of pounds of dry mushrooms within days which leprechauns would then help us harvest and we would be greeted by Tony Danza as we prepared our flying fruiting chambers driven by magical unicorns to travel into space and battle Superman for access to the Holy Mushroom Planet...

Alright thanks just didnt see if its all growing in same bag how more could grow then another figured it would fill up the bag mostly then u would have to open it before mushrooms would be damaged

Experiment man, do a side by side of two 2.5 bags versus one 5 pound.
Use cloned spawn for consistency.

so with mycobags, you colonize and fruit your mushrooms all inside the bags?

Yes you can colonize and fruit in the bag.

Fruiting without birth is in-vitro whether it's in a jar or a bag.
Casing bulk substrates is the proven high yield method, not in-vitro fruiting.

Ah ok ive seen the term "in-vitro" thrown around several times, that makes sense.
