cobweb question

so my recent mono got a bad case of cobweb. i gave it all a shot of h202 this morn and it fizzeled away and ill hit it again 12 hrs from then.
im just wondering does lack of fae cause cobweb? cause i just applied a casing layer and it was sitting in the dark waiting to colonize a little so i assumed fae wasnt that big of a deal.
now i have it in fruiting conditions with a fan oscilating in the room but there really isnt any signs of mycelium poking through the casing layer yet.
is it okay to leave it in fruiting? or should i put it back in the dark and wait for some mycelium to start poking through? if i do that im worried cobweb will come back.
could this be from a contam'd print? it seems like every grow i try and do with this pe print it gets cobweb.
thanks for the help

Yes, you need FAE or cobweb will grow, as well as trich.

Proper pasteurizaton of the peat should hold off Dactylium until at least after the first flush. RR

i did properly pasteurize the peat. i followed your pc pasteurization tek exactly.
i think i have a contam'd print imo. i know its just cobweb but its still dishearting.

A contamed print won't give you cobweb on your casing layer I don't think.
RR is right, of course, but still, if you did pasteurize properly, then the cobweb must be getting on your casing layer during incubation.

I've never heard of or experienced cobweb because of a contaminated print. Bottom line is that while FAE is a huge pinning trigger, it is not during the colonization phase. Higher C02 levels are required to propagate colonization. Remember on the last thread, I said that what clued me in that it was most likely cobweb was the fact that it was colonizing from ON TOP, not protruding from UNDERNEATH. Something obviously went wrong with the pasteurization process, and at the same time, Dactylium spores were introduced at some point. Weather or not it was in the peat already or it landed on top of the casing layer during the period you cased it not even an issue at this point. LACK OF FRESH AIR EXCHANGE DOES NOT CAUSE COBWEB MOLD. Dactylium spores cause cobweb mold.

"LACK OF FRESH AIR EXCHANGE DOES NOT CAUSE COBWEB MOLD. Dactylium spores cause cobweb mold."
Same with trich, but FAE helps prevent cobweb and trich from getting a foothold.

Well, you really don't want FAE during casing run. That's why we pasteurize. Once casing run is over, fresh air will help prevent cobweb. As shroomy1 said, it was probably something that went haywire in the pasteurization process or shortly thereafter.
It doesn't matter though. Peroxide will melt and destroy cobweb mold on contact. RR
