Oh man, it's too bad we didn't have all these popular artists around in the days of the wax rolls. Imagine going to the store to pick up the latest release, and it's a big-ass wax roll in a huge cardboard box. Sure, the sound would suck donkey balls, but you would sure have lots of room for album art.

A lot of indie artist still release some of their stuff on vinyl; some commercial artists also print on vinyl, though in limited amounts. I got a very cool Lateralus (Tool) vinyl, those who own it know what I'm talking about.
Edit: Never mind, you're talking about something else.

Neil Young said in his biography that he thinks when you listen to vinyl, the music flows all around you and through you, and that digital formats like CD's attack you with music, throw it AT you.
-------------------- Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

Digital sounds have always had this tinny, artificial quality to them. Vinyl is very natural sounding, very smooth.

Its just the way music was made to be listened to, plain and simple.

Only downside to vinyl is you cant download it. If i could afford to buy all the music i listen to, id have a huge vinyl collection.

Vinyl sounds nice, but my issue with it is I can't afford to rebuy hundreds of albums, plus more. I also like to listen to albums all the way through without a pause; having to flip the vinyl can ruin the flow of some albums that are meant to be one cohesive piece of work. I also can't play vinyls when I'm out and about or driving somewhere.
