Weekend plans?

Tonight, I drink to excess. The rest of them will be beer ponging, and I'll be sitting on the couch with a stouter brew.
Tomorrow, I play D&D with my nerd crew.
But the star... Sunday I go make purchases for my very first mushgrow! I'm so excited!
What's everyone else doing?

AWESOME, you're a D&D nerd? I played D&D for about two years and had lots of fun. I'm big into roleplaying and character development though and so I'm pretty picky about what games I join.
Nowadays I'd rather write a story then play.
I'm excited for you about your mush-grow too...growing mush is SOOO rewarding! I am tripping tomorrow on the fruits of my labor as a matter of fact.
Tripping: my only weekend plan.

Tonight I'm working, then maybe venturing into DMT-space for the first time in quite a few weeks with a friend.
Tomorrow I've got to work during the day for about 2 or 3 hours, then I'm going to try and go to see Hot Chip in concert with a couple of friends...or just hang at home and get some writing done.
Sunday, well, it's Superbowl Sunday.

I want to find some live music tonight or tomorrow night... hell I'll go to a blues bar by myself if nobody else is interested. I'll probably get a movie for the other night.
I'm going to do some productive things all day tomorrow (organizing my storage room is the primary objective.)
Sunday I'm playing squash with a friend, then I'll be gearing up for the Superbowl.
Lots of free time this weekend, I'm excited. I just wish it wasn't -40 outside.

Yep... D&D nerd... but my group sucks. We're mostly a bunch of burnouts that forget where we put our dice and smoke too much weed. I'm trying to quit that particular nasty habit.
Wish I had a better group to play with, but all works out.
Tripping would be nice... but the whole reason I'm starting the grow is because of a supply problem in these parts... so I will patiently wait.

Heh... I haven't D&Ded in years. I've got friends who have expressed interest in doing it again. Maybe I should take some initiative...
I'll sit and think about it

In my opinion, it's not worth it unless you're really going to put some effort into forming a connection with your character. That's why I got tired of playing...too much hack and slash and not enough soul.

lol I haven't played D&D in ages! It's been at least 15 years.
I have to work tonight and tomorrow, but I'm off on Sunday. A friend is throwing a Super Bowl party, so I'll probably go over there, but I want to go hiking and bouldering ealrier Sunday. There's a great boulder field called Moss Rock Preserve. It's a pretty awesome place that used to be a great secret. Development is getting closer and closer to it, though.

I couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately, I'm in the minority with that viewpoint here.
Plus, the guy DMing right now is new to the whole mess. He didn't even have his NPCs rolled last time we played.

Agreed. Luckily my group is big on character and storyline.
I played with a group once who would just make characters, then just try to kill each other! That was the only thing they did when they played, the only reason they did it.

My boyfriend's out of town until Monday or Tuesday but I haven't got any "bad" plans. Or any plans at all, really. Meh. The Superbowl kinda bores me now; I used to go to the parties and stuff but I can't even pretend I'm interested anymore.
I never played D&D but it sounds kind of fun. (Maybe this should be in the "embarassing secrets" thread...) I don't think I know anyone who plays it though.

I'll be having band practice and hopefully getting some schoolwork done on Saturday...
Sunday, if it's a nice day outside I might drop some acid... Everybody will be home watching the superbowl so I'll be able to roam freely.

Unfortunately there is a terrible social stigma attached

Yeah, there is, and that's unfortunate because it's a lovely way to open up the portal of your imagination and see what's there. It's like playing pretend...but for adults. It's really fun if you can get into a groove with it.

Most definitely... but much like dancing in the embarrassing moments thread, it takes a certain type of mindset to break that self-conscious barrier.
And it takes an especially good group as well.
But man, some of my most emorable moments among friends have been had 'round the D&D table, social stigma be damned.

tonight is a friend of mines birthday and she wants us all to dress up fancy and go to some nice bars. so i'll do that, and then halfway through the night i'll head off and meet up with this girl i've been seeing. she's going to see some lame sounding band at this other place. so i'll go hang out with her for a bit, even though i don't really feel like it.
then tomorrow my friend april invited me to hang out with her. she's going to hang out with this 45 y/o dude she recently met who always gives her assorted 'goodie bags' of different pills. according to her this guy is kind of strange. she described him as 'very insecure about his homosexuality, even though he's flaming gay, but he doesn't quite know he's gay' or some shit like that. he sounds like an interesting character, so it should be a fun night.
on sunday my roommate is planning to have a superbowl party, so i'll just hang around here and chill with him and his friends and watch the stupidbowl, even though i'm sure those bastard patriots will probably win anyways.
it should be a fun weekend. i hope so anyway.

I never got into D&D where you sit and talk with real people, heh. My D&D experience has always been on RPGs which were based on D&D stuff kinda like Morrowind and Oblivion.
The way that i play in 'character' is with Dagorhir, which usually involves a gathering of people on the weekends for 'practice'. Youtube it. battles are awesome, especially Ragnarok.
This weekend, im goin up to see my girlfriend and sleep in her HUGE comfy bed. My dorm bed sucks balls.

I made a bet that the giants would win +1 on each quarter. I'm even right now. Then I took the giants +7 on the game.
Odds are against me winning, but I took them anyway. I tried to sell 100 squares for $50 and I got too busy and didn't get them all sold. A few people still wanted to bet so I said what the hell.
Giants defense is looking good, though. I might end up winning.

Love climbing! I mostly just lead nowadays as thats what most of my buddies do. But bouldering is my true passion. Mostly because I have no endurance for long routes, but oh well.
