Habitat: Near house dung. (but not on it) in a grassy patch.

Gills: The gill color is yellowish and go inwards the cap.

Stem: Whitish brown. fragial.

Cap: Brownish yellow and is about 2-3 cm in diamater.

Bruising: No color change was observed.

Location: South San Jose Calafornia

That looks like one of the small orange dung dwelling Conocybes. Check for a spore print. I bet it comes out rusty brown.

Conocybe sp. . Probably C. albipes or C. tenera...
There may be another species (which i have found on horse dung a couple times in northern CA), but I do not know whether it is a variant of one of the two species listed above, or a different species altogether.

i would have better pictures but my friend sent them to me.

he said they didnt have a taist really (he said he tryed part of one)

Some Conocybes are deadly, it's not wise to eat unidentified mushrooms.

Did he spit the "little bit" out? Or did he swallow it?
Tasting (and then spitting the mushroom out) is a technique for identification.
