10 Megapixels is a waste of money, as you will never need, nor especialy USE that much. It's a marketing gimmick that works really well. True story! Read up on it.

wrong.
and be careful about that site selling em that cheap 40 oz. i got scammed a long time ago with a site just like that one. i only got butchered out of 250$ (which my credit card was insured for) but still, be wary.

i have Rebel XT, predecessor to the XTi.
It is a great camera. We've taken some pretty amazing photos with it. The photos I post online to share are NOTHING compared to the full-resolution files the camera produces. Good camera + large flat monitor = photo-heaven! You can print fairly large photos and still look crisp, although I've never printed anything larger than 8x10.
I might also recommend Adobe Lightroom for post processing. I just started trying it out, but a good buddy absolutely swears by it!

I usually post process photos only when I am getting them printed, just a little bit to add some more contrast or adjust for the lighting or whatever. Mostly I just save-for-web and post them online for family & friends' viewing pleasure. I used to dread going over photos, but Lightroom makes it pretty easy.
I shoot with an EF-S 17-85mm. It's a very versatile lens.

Try checking www.keh.com. KEH is a very reputable source.
I bought my Canon EOS 30D from them. Got it used, in "Excellent Plus" condition and it looks and works just like new. The stock lens is complete shit though. My next purchase is going to be the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens because I do a lot of sports photography.

the xti is awesome, the censor is very nice, a shimmering vibrating self cleaning sensor at that. Plus it has a huge lcd which is always nice, but lacks the monochrome that the xt has, the only bad thing about that is having to use the LCD alot to change and monitor settings which in turn wastes battery life. But saying the xti is a bad camera is just silly. Compared to the d.80 for the money the xti is a damn good deal .

Would you like to actualy explain why, as opposed to a one worded retort? I assumed he was gonna use it for personal use, not publishing. Only a very small percentage of people actualy utilize those pixels.
