reference suggestions?

well I stumbled across this site recently while doing a bit of research into edible mushrooms in my region (eastern iowa) and have spent lord only knows how many hours looking around, reading anything I find interesting and generally being a phantom troll hehe. needless to say I am chomping at the bit for some warmer weather, but trying to make the most of the cabin fever season by getting ready for the upcoming thaw. I did some digging and found my old copy of Mushrooms and other Fungi of the Midcontinental US (D.M. Huffman) only to realiaze it had gotten wet at some point and the majority of the pages had mold sticking them together (irony anyone?) lol.. have since ordered the new and improved second edition of the same book, and did a bit more digging around and found Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World (Paul Stamets) in fine if slightly dog-eared condition much to my delight. I was just wondering if there were any identification / reference books I should definitely add to my admittedly meager collection. My primary focus is this region as I don't even remember what a vacation is leaning more towards edibles but I've been known to spend hours upon hours attempting to identify any and every fungus I stumble across. thank you all in advance for any suggestions you might have

Another good reference is GoogleEarth. In the winter months I like to plan spring hunts by satellite.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: Welcome to the Hunting Forum kiowa27. We have at least 100 topics answering these questions if you use the Search Engine. Probably the most recommended publications on this topic are: Mushrooms Demystified, Psilocybian Mushrooms of the World, and The National Audubon Society Field Guide for Mushrooms. So to spare the redundency of these questions that have been answered so many times before, your topic is being locked.
