I found a compost pile(s)
    #795913 - 08/04/02 03:51 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

I run/walk this one trail a lot but I never actually ran the entire trail until the other day and I found 4-5 compost piles just chillin there. I'm just blown away because well I grow a bunch of things and free compost is a very nice find. It is a nice find right...the piles are probably 5 ft high and I couldn't tell ya how wide maybe wider than I am long and i"m 6'5" soooo should I use this stuff? I'm gonna use it for my garden but will shroomies like the compost too?
Thanks for reading

o yea, the piles are in a arboretum so they are not someone's pile since it is on common ground

that would be soo funny. Walk by and you see 5 mounds of magic mushrooms. I'm plannnig on walkin there at night or have a friend drop me off at the entrance then come back w/ a few bags full of compost. I'll have to get new spores and everything since I haven't grown since well awhile. Last school year but this will be fun I never tried anything bulk before. I guess I'll use bird seed/grain and rye/gran see which one I like most. Its rye/grain I hope. don't want to look like a jackass Anyway, I'll try a lil bulk once I get around to ordering all the stuff I need. adios for now

my grandma has some really nice compost, i asked her if i could use some for my 'garden' (lol)she has this worm bucket thing, and the top portion is filled with household compost like egg shells and bananna peels n shit.. but then there are other containers below it that collect all the really good compsted stuff and they have this really rich good looking dirt in them.. but theres worms living in it.. could i use this for either indoor bulk or outdoor? should i pick out the worms?

Yea, i'd try to take out the worms, theyll just feed on the mycelium like snails do.. And snails love them, put a cake outside when its humid and like an hour later theyll be chowin down.
