How can there only be 5 levels of tripping?

okay so the shroomery calculater says that 5 point something grams will bring the average person to level 5 trip. So if 5 is the highest then 10 grams will bring you to the same level? how the hell does taht work? 10 grams would be a totally different experience i feel, although ive never dosed that high.

there is a lower level 5 trip where things are odviously very distorted and the person might see things such as aliens, gnomes, ect. and a higher level 5 trip where the person looses total grip on reality

The trip levels are just a general way to describe the mushroom intoxication at different dose levels.

Ive actually never hit a 5, but a heavy4 was way more then i neeed.

there are undoubtedly more levels than just five. the only problem isnobody who has been there ever came back down far enough to be able to give us a rational description of where they've been.

I have found that the levels on the Shroomery have been irrelevant. They are good for rough guesses as to how mush tolerance one has for shrooms, but nothing past that. I have had Level 1 trips with some Level 4 "symptoms" and vice-versa. Don't get yourself down because you think Level 5 is the limit... each trip has it's own unique events.

That's true. I tripped no harder when I took 10 hits of Cid than when I took 5. I think for most people, as long as you have no tolerance, you won't trip any harder if you take more than about 5 hits of acid or about 7 grams of shrooms on average. Of course these doses will vary depending on potency and individual tolerance. Any more than that is probably a waste.

how can you apply rational terms to incomprehensible experience?? the last thing im thinking about when im soaring is what level trip im doing.. i suppose its afterwards when you try to make sense of what happened to you, and what it all means. the strongest mushroom trip ive taken was about 400, and i did that one solo. i'll never forget it, and probably never understand it. but you dont need to understand an experience to learn from it. that was my only ever out of body experience, and ill never forget the sensation of flying, and waving to myself, and myself waving back to me, and myself watching both of me do this to me. magic

personally i think the dosage calculator is a bit crap. with psychedelics, a particular dose can give a range of effects. 5g could give you anything between like 3 and 5. you could eat 2g and get a level 5, or eat 10g and only get a level 4.

Its a rough estimate and a guide - not something set in stone.

There are also plateu's that you'll reach.

Sure, going from 5 hits of acid to 7 hits of acid may not be that strong of a trip. But, lets say each hit was 100ug. Going from 500ug to 700ug may not be that big of a diff - but going from 500ug of LSD to say, 10000ug of acid in a thump-print type trip would be VASTLY different expierences.

Sure, there may be a higher dose-range plateu, but it is possible to break past it. Just the ammount needed to continue to get to the next level increases.

And, with mushrooms - going from say, 5-6g of mushrooms, to 10g of mushrooms may not provide that much of an increase in expierence. But, what about going upto 40g of DRIED (not fresh) mushrooms will probably break you through to another level. Take a read of this trip reprot of 40g dried

These are guidlines to help you better understand and make sense of your trips - not rules that are set in stone.
