Nader gets serious about presidential bid
    #7955513 - 01/30/08 01:15 PM (16 years, 2 days ago)

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

Quote:

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Ralph Nader, the longtime consumer advocate who was blamed by many Democrats for Al Gore’s loss in the 2000 presidential election, launched an exploratory committee Wednesday for another White House bid, and told CNN he is likely to get in the race if he can put the resources in place.

I wrote Nader in last time when I lived in Cali because the communist John Kerry succeeded at getting his name off the ballot....

I was a bit of a Nader-raider back then... not anymore. Plus I think the decision between Bush and Kerry was just ridiculous so I had to find a third party to vote for.

The other reason I think I voted for Nader was BECAUSE of the fact that Kerry has his name removed from the ballot. I thought Kerry's tactics at trying everything he could think of to keep people from voting for whoever they want, goes against the entire principles of freedom. This was part of the reason I depised Kerry... Bush sucked but I knew because of this trickey, Kerry would have been just as bad.

How much do you think the Republicans are paying him this time?

Don't you mean:
Paul (R)

But seriously this is depressing. Even from an entertainment perspective. Watching Clinton and McCain go head to head in debates and mudslinging is just going to be so ugly.

I still think Obama has a shot at this, however. We will know so very soon.

I don't think Nader's a wanker. He sticks to his beliefs and stands up for himself. I think his followers are more of an idiot than he is actually. They're the commies that give him a bad name.

Nader needs to realize he'll never have a chance, though.

Well, to be fair, I voted for Gore... so nobody is perfect.  Thankfully I too have gained much wisdom.

You gotta give Nader this at least: He sticks to his guns and calls out both Republicans and Democrats on being douches and for using him as a scapegoat.

I still respect Nader.. and more power to him... He doesn't pander and his values and rhetoric never change like everyone else does....

but I just wouldn't vote for him anymore.

I think that the definition of wanker just might be perfectly realized by Ralph Nader. Pointless feel good behavior with zero chance of bearing fruit except a transitory euphoria that leaves a small mess in its wake. Spot on, if you ask me.

Nader's stock investments might be of interest to you. He has become quite wealthy. For a pointless exercise in knee chopping try this.

nader bore some fruit, he stopped gore from winning, by some opinions

When third parties consistantly threaten the mainstream candidates, the mainstream candidates will have to recognize those views of the third party candidate that their supporters favor.

If you will recall Nader didn't fuck over Gore so much because Gore voters wanted to vote for Nader. The accusation, with pretty much zero actual support apart from some anecdotal reports from retards, was that people were confused by the ballot and mistakenly selected Gore. Three things about this.

1. No actual proof
2. Should people too stupid to fill out a ballot even have a vote?
3. Isn't it funny that it is naturally assumed that the stupid vote goes Democrat?

A real example of a gadfly candidate who did fuck somebody over is Ross Perot. If it wasn't for that jug eared Martian we never would have had Clinton.

A wanker indeed, he could have gotten himself arrested by doing a little civil disobedience at debate he was barred from. Link, http://www.gp.org/press/pr_04_16_02.html

It was the perfect opportunity to make a grand gesture, he either doesn't have a clue, or prefers to whine about what is wrong rather than lead.
