Thanks to a certain someone (you know who you are), I look forward to working with the Columbian Rust Spore... I always love the more ambiguous not-so-common strains.

A quick question please... I bout my spores from a head shop in Amsterdam... the guy told me they were mexican mushrooms and also said they were among the easiest kind for a first time grower to have success with. Does anyone know the name of this particular strain?

It's probably either Mexican cubensis or Psilocybe mexicana. They both are very easy to cultivate. The search engine is your friend.

Ok I was instructed by RR to post this here. I had the strain Shooting Stars from The Hawks Eye (Not the other infamous guy who needs not named) and they were awesome. Well During pinning I had to do an emergency 'clean out' and lost my strain. Looking to get it back. T.H.E. is out and will not look at outside sellers. Plus T.H.E. is not responding at this time. Any leads would be appreciated.

You were instructed wrong...
or RR misunderstood your intent.
You are not allowed to trade or ask for prints in the Mush Cult forum or this thread...
this thread is solely for discussion of the various strains of Cubensis.
You will have to wait til you have 90 days and 50 posts to get into the Marketplace forum...
to trade or ask for spore prints...etc.

Does anyone know of a strain of psilocybe cubensis that has golden yellow caps? I think gold is an appropriate color for the sacred mushrooms. So far I've only grown Amazonians and Ecuadors.

I think that the Huatala has a very light carmel color and it is from one of the birth places of the modern mushroom movement so it also has that historical side to them as well.

No Problem I am glad that I could help. I have a small batch of Huautla going right now and am amazed at how fast they pin out for me compared to the creepers that I am also growing. both went into the FC at the same time. The creepers are not showing any pins yet but the Huautla are pinning away.
This will be the second batch off this cake for the Huautla. The first flush I tried to make in a tea with the fresh shrooms but didn't really seem to have much of an effect and I had made sure to have an empty stomach. This time I am just going to chow down on them and save the tea for another time and see how it goes.

Here's some updated info concerning a popular cube.
South American
South American is a known producer of medium to LARGE fruits. It is a strain from Venezuela.
Staments has theorized that cubes are not native to South America... rather they were accidentally introduced when Spaniards brought cattle... and those cows... well you know where cubes come from don't you?
The South American strain was first sold by former Shroomery vendor sporechicks.com but the vendor had a falling out with this community and went offline. For a while, the SA strain was thought lost, until vendors like The Little Guy and Ralphster helped to bring it back into fashion.
SA has always been a favorite among those who have grown it. Recently SA has become quite popular among cube cultivators, finally getting the attention it deserves.
For more info, check the Strain Guide in my Journal.
