They are a cube... they originated from Keeper... but you probably know this from looking at Hawk's site.

I'm not that interested in Keeper's 'strains'. He is as close to a thief as a person can legally be. He simply renamed other strains to fit his whims... and then he sells them at overblown prices.

Others may have more info for you about the specifics of this strain.

Like in humans, albinism is rare in cubes, but it is not unheard of. Consider yourself lucky. I have never heard of albino B+. Very cool.

I know vendor hype is vendor hype is there anyone who can vouch for this. i have grown B+ i don't remember anything like that

"Detail of separable gelatinous pellicle: This feature seems to be unique to the "B+" among cubensis. When young and fully hydrated the cap has a transparent amber colored layer of cells that quickly oxidizes upon removal to a more opaque blue gray color. The texture is like a thin stretchable layer of gelatin."

Ehh B+ usually just looks brownish tan and skinny till 2nd flush. . . ime.

Question: On average, which strain tends to be the largest/heaviest? B+ gets tall yes but usually not very fat.  I'm curious as to which strain has put the most weight out for you fine folks.

Strain has little to do with bulk. Proper hydration of your substrate has more to do with bulk than strain.

Yeah but i already know how to take good care of a sub. Just curious on to which strains tend to grow larger. Strains *ARE* different most of the time, look

B+

EQ

GT

They look different, were obviously grown with 3 different methods, but if under similar conditions which one would get the biggest?

Sure they *are*... but if you'll notice, your larger shrooms have smaller flushes. Bulk tends to even out. Lots of small shrooms or a good amount of big ones.

Search for your favorite strain. Everybody does...

BUT...

If there WERE a super strain, it'd be all over these boards.

You want a super strain? Do it yourself. Agar. Agar. Agar.

That said, it seems... the South American cubes (like EQ), or cubes like B+, and Orissa India, as well as Penis Envy, tend to be larger than average.

In my experiences thus far, big mushrooms are...
B+
GT... tho I didnt like how hollow they were for their size
South American
PES Hawaiian
TC
LY
out of the plethora of mushroom strains I have grown.

South American has been by far the biggest, and the best flushes of large mushrooms came from PESH and GT, tho the GT were very hollow and not too meaty anywhere, the size was impressive, but not the weight.

I remember your picture of that monstrous SA cube... How come your GT are hollow though? The main thing i like about GT is they do end up weighing good for their height, and are almost never hollow. Very very dense. Though, some of the taller ones i'v grown have been hollow but i still suspect it's because the sub depth was only an inch tops..

Cervantes: I havent seen a PE over say 7-8g dry... when your getting 14-20g dry fruits on the regular, PE just dont compare...

ray40cal: Always, always they were Tall yes, and Very hollow, like if it were the size of that SA
(never happened) which weighed 237g wet and 21.7 dry, the GT of measurable size would have been more like 100-120g wet and 10+/-g dry and would have shriveled up to only about 1/3rd its former size... They never got quite that big, but thats what the numbers would have been like Im sure.

so since everyones asking
B+

SA
wet of course... A 5" mushroom @ almost 100grams!

Gotta upload Pics of PESH and LY... LY was heavy and solid, but not so LARGE in size...

When it comes to strain isolation... I agree... but multi-spore? PE has been reliably putting out 3.5-7g shrooms. Other 'strains' are more... infrequent.

But, I am with you on the South Americans... I just don't like their trip (they DO pack a punch though).

Yeah... a cube's a cube... and all... but I still have my own opinions.

Trip wise  havent sampled any of them for myself... and dont really plan to, I let my buddies tell me what they like.

As for Multispore... Only on agar, and only once per species... thats how I roll
