Straight coir is too simple, now others say it works, well sure it may work, but it dont work as well by itself as it would if you added some WC, verm and gypsum. If your spawning cakes to coir, make sure and crumble well and keep the substrate/Spawn ratios decent, like 10:1

Question i have is about this strain labeled Storm Chasers from ET, from what ive read some vendors rename strains to have them sell better. Ive tried to look up info on Storm chasers with no luck. Any one seen this strain before? No spore print yet.

I believe the owner of ET crossed a few different cubensis strains and used selective breeding to try and get some different characteristics and some added flavour , looks good from here, I'd like to see it in bulk.

well so far im very impresed with the results, this is what the website says about them:
"A hybrid newly available at Earth's Tongue. Great genetics allow this mix of cubensis strain to fruit very rapidly. In-vitro fruiting very quickly says how eager it is to grow. Great results have been documented with the first batch of Storm Chasers we gave away during our experimental period. Those of you who received a free sample gave great feedback and would place the Storm Chasers on the top 5 list of collectables. Something we think is special about this strain is their unique cap design almost looking like a cheetah with its different hues and spots."

don't believe the claims of those storm chasers, whatever lightnings and such some hack job made up a bunch of names did some half ass crosses and wanted to make a lot of mark up for his work compared to the hard working vendors.
at least that's my take on everything
I've had very good results using compost, worm castings, coco (adjusted with bloodmeal at 1tbsp to 10cups which is well under 1% 10cups = 160tbsp you could really do 1tbsp to 5cups as long as you use verm and other non nitrogen to low nitrogen substrate amendments.)

I've looked, can anyone tell me anything about syzygy? Terrence Mckenna sold it, so I suspect it's a good strain for his endorsement.

I am actually quite interested in syzygy. Not much info out there. Ralph only recently put it back into the market... and his description is quite short. I don't know of any unique characteristics.
It is a cube. Terrance McKenna sold it. End of story. What more do you want to know?
I don't mean to be rude... but cubes are cubes... and if you've read the first few pages of this thread, you probably know that already.
Some cubes look different, some don't. They all grow in the same conditions and they will all make you trip. Period.
McKenna's most famous strain is Penis Envy. It produces a good amount of shrooms and grows easily... and unlike syzygy, it looks obviously and uniquely different when compared to other cubes. Pick a strain and try it. Pick one that interests you. There is no SUPER strain.
Have fun and let us know how it goes.

in the end, it looks like PE for the most part. the stems fatten up and continue to grow long after the veils tear.
didnt I already type this in this thread somewhere?

That's just stupid, Who cares what his description says and what your opinion is, the claims are true, the crossing of a few strains had been done to get new traits, it has its own special features which is now genetic and can be sold as a new strain if he wants to.
on the other hand some people are wankers and make up bullshit I can name em but I wont, but IMO ET is a great person and will not bullshit anyone nor would he lie about anything.

Storm Chasers are not a Keeper strain... not that I can tell.
However, the name 'Storm Chasers' sounds like a Keeper strain... with all those Illusion Weavers, Reality Benders and the like.
There is little info here about Storm Chasers... and ET is not a sponsor so we shouldn't be talking about that vendor in this thread. If you want info... ask him.

yeah we can talk about him as much as we want, we are not saying to buy from him or anything like that it was brought up the other day RK said we can talk about other vendors Quote:
I personally don't have a problem with people talking about a non Shroomery Vendor's product...
as long as it doesn't come off as an info commercial for the non Shroomery Vendor...
and they don't post links to the non Shroomery Vendors site or products. RK
