I'll ask this question again. Anyone have any idea on the true identity of the Keepers "sup;er duper OMFG jesus h christ $100 a syringe" strains? I got the shooting star strain from hawk, and they look real pretty and have a great trip, but i can't find any strains that look like them, any vets know?

its a renamed cubensis is all... the price tag is ridiculous and can be purchased else where for a mere fraction of that cost

Has anyone else noticed that this BPK (Ban Phang Ka) strain produces an intense, but very short lived trip? I wonder why psilocybin acts differently when you take different strains of mushrooms... that is, if it's the same chemical compound in each.

Columbian Red Spore [Re: Rose]
    #8940916 - 09/16/08 08:02 PM (15 years, 4 months ago)

A while back Stroph gave a few of us prints collected wild from an acquaintance in Columbia i have finally grown it out. i can get pics up but basically it looks like any other cube.but for the sake of strains+ names ill share what i have found. At maturity the veil stays connected to the cap and leave nothing attached the stem at all. the underside of the cap is a light pinkish caramel color( tho these caps had a low spore deposit so far)The prints i did get are a salmon color there is a distinct color difference between these and RedBoy- this i will post a side by side picture to show you guys proof.they bruise blueish green but mostly green to blackgreen when squeezed. these are still drying so i don't know what they look like dry yet but since the caps are light in color and they bruise blue easy maybe they will have blue is stains  on them when dry,it is distinct for all of the early maturing fruits to be thicker toward the cap narrowing toward the base, much like PE yet they have a hollow stem, when i went to pick them they basically fell off. Some grew alone and quick and some are in smaller growing colonies, this I'm sure is because it is still a wild strain. pics will be up 2m if you guys want- and prints will be given out when i get acceptable prints to give it(it might be a while)

Hey RR...
Well i didn't just skip to the last page to ask MY question. I have grown GT and amazon with great success...even as a newbie. I am using the same tek (wbs)on the ban hua thalon effort(my third cult altogether)and it is day 11 and only 3 out of 8 jars show anything at all(about 2% colonization and a very dull white). I did the wbs prep exactly as i did before and these 3rd time results are very disappointing. I'm okay with knowing if I fucked up...it just irks me because I cannot know how or where!? I was very careful(as before)with each step). The GT and Amazons were fully colkonized(wbs in pint jars)in about 10 days. So THIS has either gone very bad or? Odd that only 3 jars show any growth at all given all were innoced same and are all being incubated evenly.

So before I scrap it all and start again, I figured I would ask if you/anybody know of this strain. for instance if it is a slow(real slow!?)colonizer. found a little bit but not much info on BHT. But I am gathering from you that a 'cube is a cube is a cube' basically and so I am thinking at this point I just have to start again. Darn.
I saw one posters grow log but BHT was not mentioned. If you can by any chance point me to a BHT thread or good post I would appreciate it?

I'd rather hear back from you on/if there is one?..otherwise I won't muddy bup the forum with what may be pointless redundancy over a strain name.

best...

Does anyone know what the best strain is for Invitro bags? I just ordered a Equadorian syringe and I read on hydro's tekk that they do not work so well in bags.

Jeet who has done a lot of bags says Oak Ridge is a good strain for invitro.

props to everyone who added good info into this thread.  It's taken me over a week to read it all, and for the most part I've had to save the pages on a thumb drive and read them on my personal computer since we have 5 computers w/ internet for our entire company.

a LOT of very useful info, thanks a lot cervantes, flushme, p.menace, fahkface, and everyone else!

Hello Dizzwizzle and Juke Adro

Thnaks for answering.
I know why this thread exsists and RR posted this on the top of this forum,but...
Would you mind letting me know how did you come to the conclusion?
How many times and strains have you tried and compared?

Are they really all the same?
There is absolutely zero difference between strain difference in terms of trips unlike marijuana?

I believe there is a difference, but only a gas chromatograph, and a very faithful grower will tell us that... got a GC?

Many many times I have tried different strains of the cubensis specie and the trips were all different, how can it differ? some may have more psil some less and that plays a major part which will have allot to do with the substrate and genetics from the spores used, so that will vary tho the actual cubensis is always going to be the same it just may look a little different in their own way but at the end of the day the active compounds are the same I'm no rocket scientist but IMO it just like comparing it to humans I'm a human and my strain is Australian but I'm no different to you am I? I may look a little different but we are both still humans.

I really hope that made sense cause if it didn't then I give up on your question

Aside from Psilocin and Psilocybin, what other active chemicals does each individual strain produce? noone knows... hence the GC suggestion... No one has tested this as of yet, and I attest for each cube "strain" has a different trip... some carry you with waves, some instantly plateau you and fuck your mind... some have more of a body load, some are more Visual...

I believe that there are other active or possibly inactive chemicals produced by the mushrooms that alter the actives that we know of. Much like people... every mushroom is different, but they all sorta grow the same... ya know;)
