unknown1123 said: Amanita Muscaria spores?
amantia muscaria needs a tree to grow, basically the spores won't germinate without a pine tree or whatever present.
this pine tree also can't have a lot of other complimentary fungi present.
appearently you can get mycelium from a fresh muscaria specimen to grow on PDYA.
workman told me that you may have some luck using a sterile pine seedling inoculating it with mycelium.
Your first 2 lines are wrong,
spores do not need a tree to germinate lol, they will germinate on agar, in honey lc , and on just about anything else, it just wont fruit without the tree, I have tried this many times with success and failure and contaminations, I tried to grow them in a pot with a small pinus radiata plant, the myc died as my soil got too dry, It will work next time around I'm just too busy at the moment, but if you inoculate the pine trees out in your local bush with mycelium and spores you will have Amanita in a few years, my local pine plantation had Amanita Muscaria introduced to it so the grow in the thousands there now. Out in the forest there are lots of competitor fungi, the myc will find a way around it over time then produce fruit.

The mycelium likes composted substrate it wont work on woodchips well, nor will it fruit without its partner in crime the pinus radiata, you can try pine sawdust with some compost might be good ? i dunno? they way I went was spores to agar then agar to lc then lc to soil around roots.
you can buy the spores from vendors like sporeworks or ralph or you can trade P.menace
best to talk about this in mush cult
or advanced myc

The hawaiian strain sold on most sites is a cubensis. panaeolus cyanescens is the (primary) mushroom you find when you go out picking in HI.

Da Kine - Thanks for info. Can the Panaeolus Cyanaescens (Hawaiian) be relatively easily grown indoors like the cubes?

one syringe can make 1000 jars if used correctly, but if your just going to use that syringe to inoculate the rye jars you will need 2 syringes i'd buy one GT and one B+ and do 6 of each and then G2G, both of those two strains are fun to grow so you might as well try both

Other than being less forgiving Pan Cyans aren't harder to grow than cubes, they have different growth parameters, REQUIRE a casing layer, REQUIRE manure, and theres a bunch of other crap they like that's up to the grower.. such as a pH neutral casing layer, a uneven casing layer(still thin)..
I actually have some threads made that contain a fair bit of info on Pan Cyans.

Has anyone had any experience with either variation of the Thailand Koh Samui strain (classic/super)? I was just kinda wondering what those little buggers look like fully fruited.
