Sodium Silicate in syringes
    #795475 - 08/04/02 09:16 AM (21 years, 9 months ago)

I've been thinking, Sodium silicate is used in ceramics to preak up clay particles in water, by causing them to not stick together.

What if the same would be true for spores?

Anybody know of any additives used in syringe making to help break up clumps?

any surfactant could do it, but do you want it in with your spores?

I think it would do the opposite and make on big clump of spores because I mix ss with sawdust to make the casings of cherry bombs.,

You're using it as a dried binder. Deflocculant solution is something like 1 part Sodium silicate to 500 parts water.

Sex lube.
Seriously.
Ever smell the inside of a syringe from PF?

Nan has a good thread on this going at mycotopia. Nan's syringe making tek or something is the title. He is getting germination after a month or so in INCUBATION, but not when the solution is refrigerated.

Sodium Silicate could be an interesting thing to explore. Several generations should be grown from once treated spores to see if any irregularities show up. sometimes they take a few generations to manifest.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
