You'll be alright. If you are flying a large plane, you'll have a co-pilot to save you while you're spaced out and drooling over the pretty instruments. And, if you're flying a small plane, you're not going to kill that many people anyway. So, don't sweat it.

there is a very strict FAA trying to keep air travel safe i would not dare offend that i truly appreciate them and their right wing policies except for fluids, and smoking in the crapper.
when and if i travel i also want my air crew to be psychedelic virgins for me nothing sanctifies flight more than the thought that between me and uncertainty are a crew of virgins. think about it. don't fight the FAA.

yeah man, flashbacks occur very rarely. and when they do, they're really not that big of a deal. If you want to drop acid, you should drop acid. Then again... if you are skeptical... maybe its not the drug for you. Its really up to you.

pilot = 1 chance in 2 of good income & prestige LSD = once chance in 10 of being inspired & once chance in 50 of being rewarded for that inspiration. what do you think 1:2 or 1:500 if you have the chops, be a pilot and be a good one.

Or, take the LSD one time, you might get inspired and rewarded while you are a prestigious pilot making loads of money. I have taken LSD 3 times. Before I ever did any drug, I could visualize trajectories and convection currents. Now I can actually see glowing lines that mark my trajectory in traffic and air currents as they come out of vents or around buildings. As it has been said, I am "living a flashback," but its actually pretty useful and unless I'm looking for the guidelines or the air currents, I don't see them. Its kinda like neural HUD, but more likely its just a visual representation of my predictions. If that makes any sense.

inert said: So in the future (aka next few years), there is a possibility of me taking flying lessons and eventually becoming a pilot. What kind of a pilot, I have no idea, but I'm guessing for a big company or something like that.
So anyways, my first question is: I heard that if you take acid, you can't become a pilot because there is the risk of getting an acid flashback during one of your flights. (I also heard this is true for brain surgeons). Keep in mind I live in Canada so the rules may be different than the states. So have you guys ever heard of this rule/ what do you think of it (ie it would be pretty bad to have a flashback while piloting)?
And my second question is that I heard acid leaves your system within 24 hours? So if I were to take acid (never done it before) would there be any way of testing me for it, during any of the process of becoming a pilot?
The main reason I havent tried acid yet is because of these rumours that I heard, and I didn't want to demolish and chances of becoming a pilot. I do however want to try it because I heard its a good experience. Let me know what you guys think/know, it would be a great help.
Heh, you are in the same boat as me. I'll be starting my flying lessons late this year. I've had many stressfull situations since trying shrooms and had no flashbacks.

My dad is a pilot for delta, started in coast gaurd. He has done lsd and smoked marijuana in his college days. He stopped once he became a pilot and is now tested randomly about once a year.

you're close, LSD is completely out of your system within four days after your trip ends. So, I'd say, if you wanna drop some acid, drop some acid. Just don't fly while on it. I really think it's fine.
