alright so i found these shrooms earlier wondering what they were, i dont have access to a camera currently trying to find one before i i even think of touching these. anyways heres what i got
cap: light tannish brown edge and nip, with a whitish brown ring. 2 inches wide ( before i picked them they were solid light tanish brown)and the oldest one seems to have only slight convexing edges just kinda wavy) stem: hollow, golden white, no bruising yet that i cant see. Spore print: purple/brown gills: brown habitat: its rained almost for a week here first of all, yesterday was the first sun (and actually quiet warm 60degrees), but for most often very cold near freezing at night but never hitting it, and mid 40's in the day. They were on a 4 inch layer of leaves over moist loose soil. next to a stream too.
are these sounding at all like Psilocybe cyanescens, i didnt think they would grow in my area especially this cold. I am just being hopeful for some actives because they are kinda hard to come by here.

They ain't cyanescens. The ring on the stem excludes cyans. With a purple brown spore print they are probably a type of stropharia.

Maybe You didn't say anything about them being bluish in your post though. Stropharia pseudocyanea isn't active.
