Job/career/life dedicated to psychedelics

Lately I find that one of the few things I'm passionate about in life is magic mushrooms. I enjoy growing them because I can share good times with good people. Is there any way to earn a living working with psychedelics?

Professional inmate
-------------------- He did not laugh as his eyes stopped in awareness of the earth around him. His face was like a law of nature-a thing one could not question, alter or implore. It had high cheekbones over gaunt, hollow cheeks; gray eyes, cold and steady; a contemptuous mouth, shut tight, the mouth of an executioner or a saint. If you wake up at a different time in a different place, can you wake up a different person? Cf. A.C. there will never be any job relating to magic mushrooms or the growth of it until the government legalizes it. you should maybe look into pharmacology, environmental studies/programs (saving the rain forests etc), or any job that deals with drugs on a daily basis, such as herbology, toxicology (study of how chemicals react with body), or things like that. The reason I suggest these jobs are because they will be able to take your current knowledge of mushrooms and use it in a job environment. I am sure that 40% of the guys who go on this site know a ton about random drugs and pills, which is a very good basis for pharmacology.
Just my 2 cents, you could probably also just deal mush for the rest of your life, but you run the risk of getting caught

I know how you feel. That kind of curiosity and fondness for drugs/chemicals led me to my major, chemistry. A graduate program you might want to look into would be neuropharmacology or pharmacology & toxicology.

If you're a curious person like I am: you'd probably like neuropharmacoloy/behavioral neuroscience like the other guy said. Sounds hard, but basic neuroscience is relatively simple and VERY interesting.
If you're not into science too much(this used to be me), then-- dealing ONLY if you know what you are doing. 2)Don't deal to strangers/or have a "spot". 3)Be careful who you trust. and you've gotta have connections. If you have absolutely nowhere to look for: check out campus or raves. www.ravelinks.com Befriend people first, get to know them, and then make yer connections. If you're consistent and plan the future- I'd say you could get by dealing through a strong network.
Note: These are only possibilities of your options, not suggestions. I do not promote illegal activity in any way, shape, or form.

Most things science related require an advanced degree to really be involved. Not usually something you want to embark on just because you have a passing interest.

even with an advanced degree, i'd say your chances of getting to work directly with magic mushrooms are still very slim.

No need to be a nay sayer. There are plenty of fields that one can study the effects of various substances. All you need is the cridentials to prove the know-how, backing from an institution and permission from the DEA. It's an occurence that happens quite often actually. New discoveries happen daily in the realm of drugs.

Yes. Be good at life. Use them to excel in whatever you do. IMO The greater value of mushrooms is in the improvement it can bring to the rest of life.

I'm the only one of my friends who grows, and I'm their only access to mushrooms. I don't sell my crops even though I probably could. I'd rather share them and share the experience. Recently I tripped with a friend and a married couple that he is friends with. The wife had last tripped 8 years ago, in college, and the husband had never tripped. All four of us had the best time, and it made me so happy that I was able to contribute this experience to their lives. I don't know, I just would love to find a way to make a living bringing people joy through mushrooms.

I know exactly how you feel. You know there's nothing wrong with your responsible use of psychadelics, and you're so passionate & enthusiastic about what the experience can bring you that you want your whole life to revolve around it. Like Terence McKenna, for one of many possible examples.
I would love to be a speaker for fellow psychonauts - we really need a frontman. Someone who is unbiased and wise. I'd like to get a degree in chemistry or botany or the like, so that when I do bring my cards to the table of Congress, I have some credibility.
No one is going to listen to some kid from the 'burbs who thinks he has seen the possibilities of this society if the media/government's voice wasn't so harshly critical of ritual entheogenic use.
I would like for tripping to become a rite of passage in modern society. I would like for those of us who feel so passionately about this to have a place to go and contemplate their existence whilst immersed in these keys to other worlds, much like Christians flock to churches to pray and get high on God.
I await the day.

Not legally, unless you get one of the incredibly scarce jobs researching them. I've been through a phase in which psychedelics were all I cared about and learnt to integrate the lessons learnt and apply them to other things. They can be a significant part of your life without being all you care about. I've really got into ecology and organic food growing due to psychedelic experiences making it apparent that humans are fucking up the planet.

myself i aspire to become an opera singer, not necessarily a big name or always a soloist or anything, but just singing in an opera chorus, cause i know for a fact that there are 40K per year starting positions in some professional opera choruses
i love music and i can use psychedelics to help feel the music and let the music channel itsself through me
