Ever try this Supposed Lucid dreaming

sit up in your bed and rest your elbow on the bed. Rest your head on your hand as you remain to keep your elbow on the bed. When you start to fall asleep, your hand will slip waking you up and causing a lucid dream.
anyonr heard of this or tried it?

I'm not really willing to try that, I don't have the will to stay uncomfortable for so long.

I heard of something like this Salvador Dali would do it. but i think he would hold a coin or something like that maybe a spoon and when he dozed of he would drop the object and whatever he saw at that moment he would get up and paint.
So i suppose that you could apply this to the elbow trick. would be a little easier IMO

I love lucid dreaming, when it happens. Yeah, I've done it. That method, highc, is really only half of a technique. It really won't do anything by itself.

Keep a dream journal... put a lot of effort into doing it for every single dream you have every single night.
Viola, after 2 weeks of this I get a lucid dream every single night without fail... after a month or two I get 2 - 3+ every night.
It's great, but it's a fucking effort waking up at 2am in the morning, tired as fuck and writing down 500 words on some weird fucked up dream... only to wake up 2 hours later and do it again.
i tryed that and it didnt work. so id be intressted in any other ways. i have been thinking about continuing my dream journal tho.
i have had 2 lucid dreams and posted them some where here on the shroomery.

Dream journals are the way to go, whether you think it's worth it or not. It keeps your brain on the subject of dreams and helps memory recall. You lose so much memory of your dream in the first five to ten minutes, so it has to be done right as you wake. Keep doing this, and dreams will become more vivid, at least. Lucidity is only a step away.

I've never heard of this technique, but falling asleep with my head on my hand and then waking up from the drop has never induced a lucid dream for me.
It's just annoying as I then either wake up, reposition and continue to rest, or I stay asleep and wake up in one hell of a weird position.

i found this to....But i don't see this working on me. Your not suppose to think a lot, but that will cause me to go back to sleep especially after only sleeping for 5 hours. Anyone try this and know approximately how long it will take to start going into sleep paralysis????
First a WILD requires the use of an alarm clock to wake you up after approximately 5 hours of sleep. This is done so you can become conscious one hour before the next REM (Rapid Eye Movement) period begins. After you've woken up, you now have an hour to prepare for the REM phase. Do whatever you like for the next 50 minutes or so and spend the last 10 minutes telling yourself what you want to do before you head back to sleep. --NOTE-- (WILDS are preformed by waking yourself up at the time before REM occurs, then going to sleep again as it occurs with you fully conscious) Now once you've used up the hour, head back to bed and close your eyes and act like you're going to sleep again. You're trying to trick your body into sleeping while your mind is still awake, so don't move or think about anything excessively. You'll know when your body is falling asleep because you will begin to feel body paralysis. This is completely normal and shouldn't be feared. Next you should begin to see strange patterns and colors or distorted images flashing in your eyes. Again this is normal, but we do not see this when we are normally sleeping because we are not in an REM period. Just keep waiting until these images begin to settle and become clear. Once you see stable clear images you can now attempt to control what's happening. It may feel strange at first but whatever you can think of will be projected into your dream. You can do whatever you want to now that you're in control. Fly, walk on water, bend reality, travel anywhere in the world, and it will feel just as it would in real life, hence the word "lucid" in lucid dream

highc: Yes, WILD is a method used often. Personally, I don't like it. It requires me to wake up and wait. An hour was definitely too long for me, when I tried it, too. I was more than completely awake after that hour, defeating the purpose.

that's what i was thinking if i stay up then i'm up. Maybe cutting back to 3 hours before waking then wait an hour. Could work right. the only reason for waking up is so you dont have REM.

Just do the journal, it has worked 100% of the time for myself and all my friends.
Also you can't use drugs (especially cannabis and also alcohol) if you're attempting to lucid dream.
If you do the journal correctly, your dream recall should amount to a ridiculous level where you're remember 5+ dreams a night... after that it's only a matter of time and practice to go lucid.

REM sleep gets longer as the night progresses and the cycles go on, so only sleeping for a short time would give you a shorter REM stage when you get to it. WILDs have never been my thing -- so I can't help you much with those.

i've been practicing lucid dreaming for years on and off. it's not too difficult, actually! it could be as easy as starting off with a dream journal, but then just telling yourself 'i'll know when i'm dreaming' before you go to sleep. i guess they just come naturally to me, but dream journals & saying you're gonna remember your dreams/you're dreaming is enough for me. there's a lot of websites about different techniques on how to start yourself off too!

i've had one or two lucid dreams in my whole life. they make audio cds designed to induce lucid dreams btw. i just ask God to annoint me with the Holy Spirit during my sleep. I like my dreams to be spirtually filled as opposed to rambunctious sexual acts.
but if you're interested in learning the art of lucid dreaming, check this website out..

are you super cereal. I smoke weed every single night. Maybe thats why i can't get the binaural beats to give me lucid dreams. Most the other ones work for me, but not lucid dream.
does anyone else have supporting evidence for this??

I find that it really does stifle your dreams to smoke or alter your reality, but if I were to say...smoke once every day for three days and then stop, my dreams are just as vivid as beforehand within a week. But then again, everyone's different.

I used to lucid dream a lot more and with ease when I was younger. Before pot, I could lucid dream much better too. I didnt even know that there was a term "lucid dreaming" until highschool. It is much more difficult to become lucid nowadays but sometimes I will. Becoming lucid wakes me up sometimes because my mind will get over-stimulated in the dream!

Yep... it only takes time though to control it.
My first 10 or so lucid dreams would only last for 5 seconds tops before I woke up.
Your best bet is to use the "spinning" technique... when you feel like you're going to wake up, close your eyes, and spin around in a circle... most of the time that prolongs your dream and you're transported somewhere different.
Eventually though you can extend them indefinetely... takes a fair while though.
once i ate mad dust and i had thought i was in a lucid dream (i wasnt) and i was turning around on the floor and my friends where thinking i was having a seisure or some shit and were like trying to hold me down some what and elder that was called over to help was like leave him hes ok. emberising moment thats for sure. i was moning trying to get into some kinda lucid sex dream and they were all sober like whats wrong with this dude haha
on another not i wasnt aware that if you smoke it fucks with your lucid dream cycle. back to the dream journal board.
my first lucid dream i was in a boot camp and i was deprived of sex so i had a dream that i walked into some high school bungalos and just banged some teacher on her desk as she was alone in the class.
the 2nd i had tryed to go tagging and ended up in a market and there was a display of spray cans and i got some and then next to that was a display of 40 oz beers and i took some and then ended up transporting to some side urbin street and tryed to tagg but the paint came out like it was a water gun of silver paint and just wouldnt write.
when it comes to dream signs i have been trying to keep acount of what mine are. i found that i try to write down girls numbers in dreams alot and i just cant write down 8's. it got to the point that i would even just ask them to write theres down cause i didnt want to wake up.
i figure out now that i coulndt get lucid cause i been smoking weed like every day. i have stoped seance new years so i will try it all over.
lastly, i have sex, i have had flying and jumping dreams. yet i had wanted to see if i can have a lucid dream then sit a meditate and see if i can go into another one and work my way from there, i kinda had a feeling that if i can do that i can maybe speak to my God head or some kinda ideal God architype. then maybe eat acid with him and jump around or somthin play a guitar some cool shit like that. jk id just talk it out with the suprime being

The WILD Technique 1. Find a quiet room. Make it dark, but not pitch black. If it's noisy outside, use ear plugs (I find ear plugs great because it focuses attention to your breathing, heart beat etc). The best time for WILD is just after eating midday, this is a natural time for a nap as a human.
2. Lie down on your back or in a reclined comfy chair. Wear loose clothing or use a cover so your body so its not cold but not too hot, basically get comfortable. 3. Now close your eyes and think to yourself, "I will lucid dream. I will move from waking to lucidity". Its very unlikely that what you'll see behind your closed eyes will be pitched blackness. 4. What you might see is random flashing and streaks of colour. Look carefully at this blackness. You'll find it's a complex layered space. This is all the beginning of the hypnagogic imagery. You need to watch this imagery but do not focus hard, your vision needs to be relaxed, your eyelids should gently be closed not forced shut.

5. Patterns in the random space might start to appear, shapes could form, let your mind be a blank canvas (don't let your mind wander). Just relax and passively observe what you see. You might have noticed that your hearing has switched off and you have become deaf to the outside sounds, this is good you are getting deeper.
 6. More solid objects or scenes might start to appear. They could randomly flash up in very quick succession or they could slowly float around. The shapes and patterns that you were viewing before can now auto suggest the images you see now. Your body might feel slightly different, the normal feedback from your body is lost and replaced with imaginary sensations that are difficult to describe.
 7. The images could take life, like short films they could overlay or be clear, they can change quickly and flow into each other. 8. Imagine at this point in the sequence above and left you are seeing a trees spring blossom swaying in the breeze. This turns into a a sad cartoon fish swimming in his bowl. The sad fish turns into Millets painting of two peasants who are grieving the death of their child. These two figures become the receptionists at the Lucid Crossroads, Glad and Clem. You might also be experiencing a sort of vibration. This could feel like chills or warm water or static sweeping all over your body. They can get intense, but stay focused on the images.
9. At a point like this the images can spring to life infront of your eyes, its as if someone just turned on the lights in your dreams. The images you see are sometimes described as being like watching a film on a screen but its like a screen of clear glass with a real 3 dimensional world living and breathing beyond, its breath taking!

Reach out and step beyond its surface and become part of the scene. You will zoom into the scene like a camera zoom in a Hollywood film, and you'll be there, lucid and ready to enjoy.
You are now in one of the most unusual and amazing states of being you can ever imagine, its very difficult to describe to anyone who has not done it before. I think the fact that you were awake only minuites before only helps to intensify the experience.
Is it really that easy.

anyonr heard of this or tried it?
wtf I hate how some people treat lucid dreaming like some kind of drug they can fuck themselves up on.
what the fuck are you talking about. I never said anything about using lucid cream as some sort of drug to get fucked up on, nor did i apply this statement in my posts. I am merely gathering information from different parts of the web so i can better my understanding, and follow through with a lucid dream.....so fuck off

I've found the best way to lucid dream is to chug a caffeine drink right before falling asleep. It seems to put you into a lighter/longer lasting R.E.M. sleep.

If you wake up, you're not sleeping, so you wouldn't be lucid dreaming. This is probably the most ludicrous method I've seen for trying to obtain lucid dreams.
www.ld4all.com is a good site to get information on lucid dreams, even if the layout is a little queer.
