What do you think? Pretty cool huh? I could justify spending $100 on it, could you?

You plug in your fans, humidifiers, lights all into this unit and it will completely automate everything. Really simple. I used one in highschool for some, um, projects. You don't need the High Output controls unless you are using High Amprage units. It will run a "Freezer" type martha or two or three pretty much problem free.

Looks a little complex for a somewhat simple application.

I think it's sick.. not necessary for a typical mushroom grow but for $100 I think it's pretty sick.. Some cycle timers alone cost that.
Would be killer to have that for a green setup.

Yeah, the CO2 stuff is pointless, but I can control humidifiers, Foggers, lights, heaters, fans, temp. I thought it was a killer deal. A bit overkill, but I get a kickass cycle timer, 24 hr timer and everything else it comes with.

I kinda doubt the humidistat will be useful for the range we use use, few hemostats are useful above 90% Rh. But tweaking the cycle timer should work pretty nicely.. you could set the humidity level at it maximum perhaps and use it as a back up in case the humidity drops below 80% or whatever the max setting on the controller is.

The cycle timer part was probably worth the price, since a good cycle timer can cost over $100. However, it's designed to increase CO2, and remove humidity. Note that it says it has a DEhumidifing humidistat for some reason, which is doubtfully programmed to function at 95% anyway, or you could simply use it to power a normally closed relay. Perhaps it works both ways, even though what you quoted didn't say so. RR

RR hit it right. I had one of these and the humidistat control is for REMOVING humidity not increasing it in case it gets too low. It is a nice piece of equipment though for the rest of the automation.

Read the HF1 description.
"This outlet is similar in function to the HR-1 relay outlet except it IS FOR HUMIDITY PRODUCING apparatus. Humidifying equipment can not function during dehumidifying cycles."
Just turn the dehumidifying cycle off???
The humidistat does go to 100%

Does it have an external probe for the humidistat? If the humidistat is built into the unit (looks like it is) your not going to be able to use it. I would not feel comfortable having that unit inside of the fruiting environment which will be in the 90% RH range. Use the cycle timer for your humidifying device. Seems like you got a red hot deal on it so you really can't go wrong.
Because the dial reads up to 100% doesn't mean the humidistat is accurate up to that range or even far more importantly that the box itself is rated for those conditions. Think about the speedometer in some old beater pick up truck.. it might go up to 200K but the truck can only do 140.

I don't know about the probe, but I can easily resolve that. I work on motorcycles for a living, and I was an electritian for 2 years. I can find the probe and put an extention on it. If it requires. Not a big deal, because I can of course do what you said and cycle the humidifiers.

YOU need to read the description and look at the diagram. It does say what you said but it is for a relay. You will have to buy another module as shown in the diagram for producing and controlling humididty. Didn't I say in my first post that I had one and it's not for humidifying. Did you not understand that part?

Please put the knife down, and step away. No need to freak out. I'll see when I get it if I can come up with something. I'll operate with the tool on my level of want/desire to make it work. Don't make me turn my garage into a climate controlled environment just for spite.
You don't know me, you don't know how much money I make, or how much I am willing to spend to see something work. So, please, for future conversation sake, please don't get pissy. Or else the troll under your bed might eat your pinky toes off..........

Good for you Samurai Jim!! That was probably the coolest response I've seen in a loooooooong time! You're absolutely right... No one here knows what you make or what your willing to spend on what brings great happiness to your life. As grown ass men, we have hobbies and spend on our hobbies! Hell, I have a friend who dropped $700.00 on a remote control airplane. I was like WTF! Hey, that is his hobby Anyways, your good spirit gives you 5 shroomies from me

I'm not getting pissy but by the same token I am not going to sit here and have you tell me to "read the descrition", when I told you that I had/have one and know exactly what it does on it's own. How much money one makes or what one does for a living has nothing to do with ones ability, or in this case, inability to accurately read a product description and/or diagram and try to convey it to others. Good luck in any and all of your ventures though.
