You best be at Phil & Friends right now at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. Being an Oregon resident you really have no excuse. They just played this for the first set:
Viola Lee Blues > Feedback, Cryptical Envelopment > The Other One > Cryptical Envelopment > Clementine > Good Morning Little Schoolgirl
And now check out this:
02/02/68 (Fri) Crystal Ballroom - Portland, OR Set 1: Viola Lee Blues > Feedback, Cryptical Envelopment > The Other One > Cryptical Envelopment > Clementine > Good Morning Little Schoolgirl

yeah the mardi gras show this year was unbelievable, one of the best shows i've been to.
i started peaking on the gooms i ate right when they brought out all the floats and the balloons and glitter started falling from the sky. the energy projexted by the band and audience could not be contained inside the venue.

u think?
its up there for sure
iko iko opener would be amazing
bertha is always a good one too
personaly my all time favorete openeer ever at any show was whamola last time i saw les at the warfeild. it just whe like "POW"! the drumemrs kicked in and all you could hear was the fucking groove building then they raised the curtain reveiling the drummers as gabby, skerick, and les strolled out just in time to launch into a furious whamola
did not see it coming.

whamola would be an awesome les opener for sure, that song is some fucked up twisted psychedelic techno song, i love it.
bertha, shakedown, iko, stranger, greatest openers. bertha starts with so much energy, esp 80's ones, with that dun DUNNNNNNNNNN, dun DUNNNNNNNNNN.
feel like a stranger if done right... which bobby never does anymore it seems. he always opens with help on the way now, and that just gives away his franklin's encore.

most definitely. My parents live out in the middle of nowhere with about 25 acres (13 of which are theirs) of land between their house and the lake. I love it there. Especially in the summer at night when you can smell the lake... I can't explain the smell, but it's a lot like the undertone smell in the cologne "Cool Water"...
For the most part I don't mind living here. Tulsa is a pretty city and I like that in 30 min drive I can go from an 8 lane highway to a gravel road with a one-lane bridge.
It's cheap to live here too... and I make about 40k/yr, which is considered really good here... and anywhere else I'd be struggling. So I guess i deal with the 3.2% beer (well, it's only weaksauce if you get it a gas station) and lack of a nightlife for the aesthetic and economical advantages.
Live somewhere cheap so you can afford to visit expensive places. Works for me.

actually that's starting to become a REALLY popular trend here. There's this store called "high gravity" that has everything for brewing your own beer. I'm not that much of a beer drinker. I mean, I'll drink it if we're having a party or going out to the lake... for me, it's better to grab a couple 12 packs of a good import beer from a liquor store (Stella FTW) than brew my own just for the sake of having beer that's full strength and tastes good.
Next time I'm out beer buying I'm definitely going to look for flat tire. everyone here keeps saying it's the best.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention high proof grain alcohol, like Everclear, is legal in Oklahoma but 6pt beer isn't. Like that makes a lot of sense. I know Everclear can't be sold in a few states.

I love Stella. I never had it until I went to London... I had honestly only had weaksauce 3.2% bud light and high life. I think by that point the only full-strength beer I had was Corona. No wonder I didn't like beer that much LOL I drank some Stella and I was like "omg, this is actually good!" and since then I've been trying a lot of brands at the liquor store.
So far my faves are Stella and Sam Adams

i'm sure you've tried it once cause i drink it all the time. it's a really fine tasting belgium lager. you probably wouldn't like it as much as other beer though. it doesn't have that fruity ale taste that you seem to enjoy.
StonedShroom: Have you had the winter lager seasonal brew of Sam Adams? Not only is it cheap, it also tastes amazing. It's like a mini-christmas in every sip.

We get Rogue down here. Dead Guy is my favorite ale from them. I like their Emperial Stout, too. I don't really dig too many stouts, either. We do not get New Belgium beers down here, though. I Fat Tire and Sunshine Wheat.

I think that you could be close to the farthest distance away from the Everglades in the whole country. I wish you could make it too. The Beastie Boys are going to be pretty kick ass!!

Claypool's ALWAYS badass! I have never seen even a mediocre show from him. It is always off the hook! I have a killer video recording that I did from Bonnaroo '06. It was Fancy Band too. I think that the Flying Frog Brigade is my favorite besides Primus, though.

I liked the guitar player, Eenore, that was in the Frog Brigade. He was so random and weird, but badass!
