I would back up my HD then install a new one & tell them to prove it.

Format the hard drive, reinstall Windows, then open up the run command.
Type:
CMD>ENTER IPCONFIG/RELEASE>ENTER IPCONFIG/RENEW>ENTER EXIT>ENTER
Unplug your modem for 24 hours, plug it back in. Call Your Internet Service Provider, tell them to go fuck themselves for invading your privacy, and prove I did anything wrong.
Also hint to them your lawyer would love to raise a lawsuit for invading your privacy and harassment.

That's all horrible advice. Formatting it and reinstalling Windows is not going to stop anyone who knows what they're doing from looking at any data that has ever been on your hard drive, and renewing the IP through CMD only changes your local IP address. You fail. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Bro you need to click on my signature, if you get sued you get 70hrs of trial time at no additional cost. Go to www.YouCanDoMore.net and get the live events family legal plan and IDtheft shield package for $25/month You have to have the membership before you get the summons so I would do it right away. They fight traffic tickets and a bunch more but it will protect you and our lawyers are good. We have 4 retired US Attorney Generals so who knows, maybe you live in one of their states. Either way. At least check it out. I got threatened to be sued by a creditor but after he found out I was a prepaid legal member he changed his mind cuz he knew it will cost him $30k for 70 hrs of counsel plus next year you get 130hrs of trial time so you can drag anything out and bankrupt the other person...theoretically...but at least you will not be paying $200-300/hr since you know it is coming don't be stupid. My dad just had a similar opportunity since he knew the summons was coming and he was too late. The benefits start immediately cept motor vehicle is 15 days. No long term contract so you can cancel anytime without a fee.
Hope it all work out for ya. If you do get the membership keep me posted. Cuz if you get off I want a written testimony.

I GOT THE SAME DAMN LETTER!......except from Rogers wireless...and about Battlefield 2. Story is that I actually own a copy of this game and I lost disc 2 of the 4 they come with so i couldn't install without these iso files. They wrote me a letter threatening to cut off my service, I sent a 2 page long response letter which did get me an a apology but sadly I don't have the time or effort to dig it up again.

Yeah, when they paid for a shroomery classified ad, they misspelled nearly half of the words. Would you really want a grammatically incorrect group of con artists representing you?

and if you search google or even simply look at wikipedia, you find there are hidden costs, you only get one letter per incident, so you pay for any after that, and many, many other things.
not to mention it is a pyramid scheme. supposedly, if you start selling they force you to go to meetings and buy materials that cost money, and more than likely you'll lose money.
but hey those of you who like it, if it'll make you guys feel better to waste your money on it, go for it.

yes, considering the office is on network television and doesnt require cable to watch it. which also begs the question why doesnt the OP just watch the show on NBC?

What about the more important issue here: why is your ISP tracking your internet activity? Is it only torrent usage that sends up a flag? Is there a way to legally or in effect prevent your ISP from spying on your private information?

ISP's have a right to know what illegal material is going through their servers. I'm pretty sure you sign over your right to privacy when you sign that huge ass agreement.

No, they don't. It's none of their business. We should own the bandwidth that we pay for.

Sorry, but welcome to the real world, it just doesn't work that way. If it goes through THEIR lines, THEIR servers, they get to know what it is. If you don't like it you're free to start your own service.

I reviewed my policy and they can only collect that sort of information by court order (Suddenlink here). I'm dismayed to find out however that they can "packet shape" me. They sure as hell better not try that.

My thought process? Are you retarded? I'm telling you about the real world, not some idealistic bullshit. I'm not saying that's the way it should be, I'm saying that's the way it is. SHOULD marijuana be legal, sure, but is it? NO. Should ISPs be looking at what you're doing online? No, but do they?.... I think you have enough mental capacity to figure out the answer to that one on your own.
