Any kind will do. Just put it under the perlite, underwater. Fanning will not be required if you pump 2-3 times the volume of the tank, every hour.

I've never used that perlite shit, as when I had a PMP I used expanded clay (hydroton/geolite) and that was how it worked. Maybe if you take another small container and fill it with water and perlite to the point where there is standing water under the perlite and put the bubbler in that, you may have success. However, you do need to be watchful that the water doesn't totally evaporate out of a smaller container like that...

have ur perlite for humidity and put ur aquarium pump + air stone into a jar of water or something.

for FAE you want the pump outside the terrarium.

for massive humidity you want the pump inside the terrarium, as it would recycle humid air.

wouldnt you run the risk of shorting out your pump by having it run in extremely humid air?

im having good results with a tub filled with 3 inches of water ~ h2o2 mix 15 % with 2 inches of perlite and clay pellets floating on top the water (though not the clay) with a 50 gallon tank fish pump (2 valve) with attatched air stones under the floating perlite .. my cakes are on a metal rack 3 in above the water/perlite ..

maybe, who cares it's 10bucks.

pumps are pretty simple to so they don't break easily.

You dont need to put the pump in the tank. That tub stayed at 90% humidity just like that.

but you can, bulbs from humid air = more humidity

bulbs from fresh air = less humidity

if you don't need the gas exchange, why not?

this doesnt make any sense. if you construct a "proper" pmp, like the tek i posted than the bubbles will be as humid as possible because the air is coming up through the water. there is no reason for anybody to have to put the bubbler in the tank.

with the pump on the outside it is pulling in fresh air (thus aiding in your fae's which your method wouldnt be) pushing it through the airstones which are under water creating moisture laden air as it evaporates off the hydroton and pushing the co2 out the top of your chamber.

I use 2 - 3 inches of damp perlite. A mason jar with water. A aquarium 35dB bubbler/pump which cost $13. The tubing runs straight into the FC into the mason jar. The pump also has a check valve, like a PVC valve on a car block incoming fluid so the unit doesn't break.

This is first flush, one cake:

This monster was picked 5 days after the pump was installed last week.

Nice fruit i usually get around 2 per cake of that size, with just a shotgun fruiting chamber and 5-6 FAE per day. I thought about a bubbler, i have the airstones but no pump, havnt really bothered about it as i get good results just keeping it simple.

I have heard lots of people say stick it in a cup of water, it will provide some FAE and add a little to humidity. Depending on how much air it can pump you may still have to to a few air exchanges a day.

Get a bubbler bro, it was like $13, I can't even hear it... Plus, it has a layered filter, so most airborne contaims, bacteria get filtered before getting pumped into the FC. I've seen a world of difference.

What do you do for FAE? Seems like your fruits would be under positive pressure too much between fanning.

You can increase your fresh air exchanges by blowing up a condom and sticking it inside to the top of your PMP fruiting chamber.
It takes up space and makes the fruiting chamber artificially smaller till the fruit show up and you need the room.
Blocks of Styrofoam work too.
Don't overdo it though, you'll end up with a drying chamber if you do!
