Opinions on my FC plans

I'm not really planning anything revolutionary, simply a compilation of different teks around the shroomery.
My first jars are incubating right now so its time to get serious about making my FC. I have both brf cakes and rye berrys for casing incubating so I need to have two different grow chambers. I plan on two standard sterlyt tubs, both humidified by this ultrasonic humidifier http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100288&navAction=jump&navCount=0&skuid=sku3476975&id=prod3478132
I'd run hoses through however many bottles i need to get the right rh. Pretty standard so far, I know. So hoses come in the top, then for fae I have a 80mm computer fan for each. Heres the kicker, since shrooms don't like having fans blow on them what if I had holes at the top and the fan at the very bottom SUCKING air out?
Anyone have any experience with this? Also, hows this timer look http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100018745&N=10000003+90401
Any input is very much appreciated
Ps. My two fans are spliced to a 5v cell charger. as long as i properly wrap the wires, are there any objections to this?

Sounds pretty complicated. In my opinion, your best bet is to stick with something simple, and tested. Try a Poor Man's Pod. It's way easier to maintain, no computer fan jerry-rigging, and has been used plenty of times, by oodles of people, successfully.

Also, that timer doesn't have the type of fine-tuning you might find you need. I used to have one that I got at Wal-Mart that had 96 15 minute settings. But it melted, because I am retarded.

Spawn rye to coir/verm, case then fruit in a Shotgun FC.

I did consider a PMP, however since I already have the humidifier plus have already done the fan wiring I don't see it as really all that complicated.
That timer really doesn't have enough settings? would I really need more than an hour on hour off?
Thank you for your input

spawn to rye/coir? I was under the impression this was used for casing? Seeing as this is my first grow I planned on not spawning to bulk first go.
Isn't shotgun the tub with a shitload o'holes and perlite bottom? Unless I'm mistaken that requires fanning 3 or more times a day. I was hoping for something a bit more automated. thought my plan might work on that level.

Coir/verm is a casing, and a crappy one at that. However, coir makes an excellent bulk substrate. Case with peat/verm.

The more components you integrate into this FC, the more likely it is to break down and fail. It will also be more difficult to get to your ideal levels. That's all I'm saying. That is also what is great about the PMP, because it only has one working part... the pump.

Did you buy it already? If not, then get one with more settings, because it is better to have the ability to tweak your settings than to not have that ability.

I totally hear you on more components= more chances for something to break. Guess I'll have to think about that.
No, I haven't bought the timere yet. any suggestions on good ones to get?

I myself am doing a PMP for my cakes and am working on setting up a Martha closet style unit for use with a humidifier.
Your humidifier is just slightly less bad ass than mine (plus mine looks like a puppy) so I'd say it could probibly handle a closet unit. I don't know if your unit has an intensity adjuster but mine did, but if it did then a timer might not be required neither would the empty pop bottle rh adjustment. If you plan it like this things will work out better for you and you can grad from cake to casing like many others in fact with using jar lids as risers you can probibly do casing in a PMP.
<edit>
Actually I read it your humidifier does have a level adjuster so that's great news.

thanks for the timer ideas defone.
hey scavenger, Damn you and your puppy. I wish mine had a sweet theme. I'm totaly jealous! I was looking at a penguin one but opted for the sunbeam cause of the higher capacity.
It actually doesn't really have a output adjuster. They lie. Its just a valve that changes how much vapor comes out but since i'm taking it off and putting on a hose its irrelevent.
I'm actually doing casing the same time as cakes. This is why I like my idea as much as I do. By changing the amount of bottles and hose length to the different tubs I can ajust the rh accordingly (cakes need around 98 while casing should be 88-95)
Good luck with your grow, brother.

Too bad to hear about the adjuster.
Since your probibly learning wiring computer fans what's the deal are they a pain? I'm not a fan of em cause they sound like it could be difficult, but I figure it's a cheep solution to FAE for some situations.
