Steralize everything..take all necessary precautions..it is not a pain in the ass, it is a necessity.
All 9 of my jars have contamed just today due to skipping sterilization procedures. (No glovebox, didn't wipe surfaces)
It is a shitty feeling and it pisses you off to see all the prep work goto waste.
Aghhh back to sqaure one, anyone wanna lend a print for one in the future?

I've had successful grows without a glove box, but having one is really important. My lungs would hurt for days after bleach bombing my house in an attempt to inoculate without a glove box.

Use a glovebox, no matter what you hear. Sterilize for 2 hours to be certain, and pasteurize and casing materials for 1-2 hours.

Steralize everything, over steralization does not exist. The more sterile the better.
Hoenstly, you will not regret taking the extra time to do it.

I have been saying this for months, use a glovebox. yes some people have success in open air but why take the risk when a simple cheap glovebox works well and effectivly.
Since i started using a glovebox my success rate has been 100%. Even in my untidy and not so clean flat i have great success with a glovebox, before i had around a 90% failure.
The best thing you can do is be clean and sanatiry with your work areas, don't go around bleach bombing everyone. For a start its very bad to breath bleach fumes and its impossible to get rid of it all. Keeping spore counts low is all thats nessesary. Which can be obtained with regular cleaning and sanitising of surfaces, and not allowing foods to lie around.

My glove box cost me nothing, i had a clear plastic box lyng around, honestly dont know where it came from, cut 2 holes in it and away i was went for 3/4 jars contaming to 0/4 contaming (only 4 jars at a time?? small pressure cooker and i dont need that much shrooms)
Even a cardboard box can work as a glovebox.

Nope just reg pf tek jars.
I saw a really good tek for a cheap ass glovebox that works very well in someones link. But forgot the name and to lazy to look.

pf tek jars done correctly do not require a glove box. They do not even remotely require a glove box. I am 99% sure that you fucked up somewhere else. Show us a jar and the contam pattern.

clear plastic box + gloves for washing dishes = glovebox actually too easy . Maybe i havent done a lot of times g2g but till now i ve never had a contamination even through g2g , inoculation of jars is something people can get away with in open air , if they dont have a bad syringe or if they dont clean around the place that they are working they may get contamination of course . Peace .

I have never used a glove box when inoculating PF jars, and the only contamination I've had was when boiling a jar and it contacted the bottom of the pan cracking it.

It's known that you don't necessarily need a glove box for PF jars or any syringe inoculation process. It helps, yes, but the main reason for your failure was probably the syringe making process and free floating mold spores.
You shouldn't have any bigger problems with contams when your home is not mold infected. My house is quiet dirty, but there seems to be few mold spores etc. and therefore I work without ANY contamination for a long time now. I sterilize my jars for 45 mins. in the PC make the syringes and inoculation process in the kitchen without any Lysol / bleach etc. and keep getting good results without any contams. IF you have a mold problem (which you seem to have), a glove box is indeed a good decision, but when everything is normal, it's not necessary!

Building a well rounded glove box is key to this hobby.
Smitty's head friends tell Smitty that if doing tissue / mycelium / spores to direct substrate, a glove box or Lamar flow hood are essential to success in this hobby.
Smitty has had much higher success rates since using either G2G or spores to direct substrate innoc.
Look for Smitty's split personalities sure shot no failure guide coming up.

Honestly, you will not regret taking the extra time to do it.
my first inoculation i used about half a bottle of rubbing alcohol and wrapped my arms in saran wrap+gloves i cleaned my glove box with alcohol i cleaned my lighter with it even my syringes i even gave my jars a quick rub before i took the tape off the holes i washed my arms with the alcohol and Lysol too. nothing should live through that :P..
i thought i was over sterilizing, but it will probably reward me.

even easier, you could tape some saran wrap oer the top as a lid or just flip it over and use the lid as the bottom, but i see you already cut the holes where you want your arms.
