Also i ask readers to remember bits and peices they picked up during their time:
Dreamworld where souls go? DO u think i made that up? Do u think a single reference in Waking Life made me do it?
No there are dozens of other peoples views on it similar to mine that made me believe in it as well as PERSONAL expereinces:
Another example, anyone watched Apocalypto? With Mel Gibson? There b4 being sacrificed at the altar brothers of the tribe told each other: "travel well" (in the dreamwold) before beings sliced open.
If u look into it dreamworld isnt new idea at all, all indigenous (sp) tribes believe in it in one form or another
Here, just to bring this thread back to the topic

And I am asking you: can consciousness exist outside the body, without being supported by the construct of the brain? How does it manifest itself if it does? Because from your descriptions, it has thinking and memorizing abilities. Then what's the purpose of the brain? My suspicion (based of me wanting it to be so ) is that there might be awareness unsustained by a brain, but perhaps not in the way people describe OBE's and the like. It can't be because it's too close to what we already know, our near by and day to day experience regarding awareness, for me not to suspect that it's all just in our minds. It feels nice but it's just a projection. So yes, I think that all of this is just a manifestation of your own desires.

This is a pretty wild assumption. You don't know how hard or superficial I tripped and you don't know anything about my personal beliefs. Unsustained beliefs have nothing to do with philosophy.

I think life and what happens after death will always be a mystery. People seem to hate mystery though for some reason. They often seem to either take to the idea that we are a body which will decay and see anything else as wishful thinking. Or they become completely sure that there is life after death and there is spiritual realm etc. I think both sides have there logic behind them, while the first seems to be "if theres no proof, theres no reason to believe". While the other usually have had spiritual experiences of some kind. But I dont understand why either side takes the mystery out of it. Science has not explained how something becomes aware, or exactly how this awareness even functions, its a mystery. Spirituality hasn't been able to explain what science has discovered so its a mystery from that front too.

What about "If there's no proof, keep looking deeper until you find one"? Usually when we attach ourselves to a belief (or fact in the sense that we think we already know everything about a certain subject), we stop looking for more. And we're at loss. Personal beliefs are one thing and everybody has them, when we take them from a philosophical aspect, they must be logically analyzed.

My soul made it to the Final Four.
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I'm not sure what the hell happened to this thread, but here's my two cents.
I personally believe in reincarnation, not in the sense that a soul carries over from past lives. But that matter just continuously rearranges itself and impressions are left on it in the process.
My father used to have a friend who frequently told him of these nightmares she was having of being tortured in a prison and being lashed. She had very little knowledge of her family history and felt compelled to look into it because of the impact these dreams were having on her. Turns out that much of her family was actually persecuted or were victims of some war in spain a few hundred years ago. It's been a long time since I met the woman or talked to my father about it, but the story went along those lines.
But yea, reincarnation seems plausible to me.

i think that it's absolutely ridiculous that a moderator edited my post b/c i said that i was entitled to be full of shit. I understand that there are rules, but free speech should never be overthrown. It would be more acceptable if i had actually flamed icelander in some way. Supression... have we not learned anything?

George Washington Carver that is, right? No way you could have been "The White President George" because I know with 100% certainty that I was him.

youre right like when you try to exercise your free speech and the government mod erases it from the record based on opinion? This is the same situation as stem cell research. But i dont want to start another lively "debate" i'll just leave it at that. Now that i know how is forum works, in the future i'll be sure to belittle someone with emoticons whilst making my point and maybe i wont get a warning for "flaming"

Of course you dont have any issues with anything, youve got government support. You can say and do as you please b/c youve been alive since the dawn of time
