Jan. 26--Most North Texas school districts do not drug test students. Shown are local school districts that do and what they test for:
Cleburne
Who is tested: All students who participate in extracurricular activities. About 65 percent of high school students participate.
Substances tested for: Marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, phencyclidine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, methaqualone and propoxyphene.
Crandall
Who is tested: Voluntary for grades 7 and 8, with 25 percent participate. About 18 percent of grades 9-12 participate in voluntary testing. Testing is mandatory for students in athletics, drill and cheerleading teams.

Dallas

Rockwall
Who is tested: High school students in extracurricular activities
Substances tested: Cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, opiates, phencyclidine, propoxyphene, benzodiazepines, barbituates, methadone, methaqualone, ecstacy, creatinine, alcohol, marijuana, steroids and inhalants.
Royse City
Who is tested: Grades 7-12. All students involved in extracurricular activities.
Substances tested for: Alcohol and drugs (marijuana, cocaine, meth amphetamine, barbiturates), but students can also be tested for any performance enhancing substances
Terrell
Who is tested: All active students involved in extracurricular/UIL activities in the district in grades 9-12. Any district student who chooses to be voluntarily tested. Students involved in extracurricular/UIL activities are randomly tested once per six-week period at a rate of ten percent of eligible students per test. Ten percent of the randomly selected students are tested for steroids.
Substances tested for: Amphetamines, barbiturates, sleeping pills, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methaqualone, opiates, heroin phencyclidine, angel dust, marijuana, alcohol steroids and propoxyphene.
