Just wondering, when using polyfill in monotubs what micron size do you guys think it would be around?

Keep your comments to yourself. I asked a question about microns I didn't ask for a different method. Terrarium? No. You just assume you know what my tek is, I love idiots who think they know everything!

He's right you know, don't filter your FAE, FAE is good. 100-200 1/4 inch holes drilled into all six sides of your FC filled with perlite to 5 inches is the easiest way to go bro!
Monstermitches monos rock though, so you are not wrong, it's just AMOO.

One can't say the micron size from polyfill because it's so dependent on how tight or loose you pack it in. RR

Again with the assumptions on TEK. I have years of experience. I know how to get the best results possible with the method I use (and its definitely not cakes and perlite) period. Yes he is right, didn't say he wasn't, but the info was useless to me.
I am merely looking for an estimation of a micron size. I recently got my hands on some 10 and 25 micron fiber filter bags. They look like real big starched socks, I plan to cut up into disks. I am going to replace my polyfill with one or the other. I was looking to hear an estimation before I mentioned what I was working with.

You'll just have to experiment and see what slows down evaporation, because that's the only reason for stuffing polyfill in a monotub. It's not necessary to filter the air entering fruiting chambers. RR

Yeah I figured you might mention that. You think a loosely packed patch could equivalently smaller than a 10 micron filter?

easy go buy a really cheap pillow at Wal-mart and pull out the stuffing thats perfect..i just soak it in 90% ring it out and roll it like clay then stuff through the wholes you made i like half inch.....then cut extra off each side.....make sure its really tight in the whole...pillow should cost $5 buck...or use the pillow you already have if its not down filled it will work

Oyeah one more thing make the wholes high on one side and just above your base material on the other side creates a way for co2 to get out low and air in up high

This is true. the polyfill will keep bugs out but that is all its good for in a an fc. Hell the bugs will still find a way in if they want. Contams will also. polyfill/fc's do not mix

lol for fae. I thought the holes let in air but the poly kept the moister in a mono tub.

once the polyfill gets wet it will be almost airtight. You could force air through it but gravity would not pull co2 out of it if it was wet.

Nice debating going on here. Kinda thoughtless though because i know each of you knew already what the other said just didn't think about it at the time. Thats how I am when I'm sober, LoL (drunk, I don't do shrooms) The reason I am opting for a "polyfill mono tub" is for mere laziness seeing I work 3rd shift I can't be tentative enough. So with a hepa-filter(ionic)(I know RR no need to filter the air, but why not?)kicking on to circulate air once for a couple of minutes every 2 hours or so to help get things moving, works great. The micron question was just to help me replace the the polyfill, which I dislike for multiple reasons. Any how what's your growing preference. (method) not reason!
