Cactus Shipping

So my friend just acquired a new friend that offered him a few cuttings off of this specific cactus in the pic. Would you say it looks like a San Pedro? I know you can't see much detail in the picture, but you have to understand... it was sent via cell phone.
Now my main question is not if it is a San Pedro or not... We are about 95% sure of that. My question is, how would one prepare cactus cuttings for shipping. My guess is that callousing the cut ends will be a must. Wrap it in newspaper?? I really have no idea, and would appreciate all suggestions. Also any suggestions on how to keep it as legal as possible being as they are only for ornamental purposes only.
Thanks for the help!

Yup that's a boring old T. pachanoi "PC" "San Pedro".
I think...
The pic is not that great.

That's exactly right!

Do not ship or recieve dried cactus flesh.
There is no need to ever worry about getting in trouble for sending live Trichocereus cacti in the USA.

Well your wrong.
I certainly don't know everything about cactus.
If you need help with Lophophora (things like grafting and such)
It would be best to talk to the big blue eye...

Callous the ends and pack it with balled-up newspaper for padding.

I had a shitload of cacti sent to me in newspaper. the spines punctured the paper and impaled all the cacti. black weeping rot appeared soon on most of the punctured spots. I would say use paper first and then use bubble wrap over that.

i always ask cacti that are mailed to me to have the long spines cut...but i dont think there should be any worry with pedros....just wrap it in a few sheets of paper and put it in a box with a bunch of newsprint padding....good to go so long as its not wet and the cuts have healed.
just make sure there is no dirt in the box....customs hate that!!!

Callous them good. I know it's been mentioned...but make sure to be thorough. Moldy cuttings can be an unnecessary pain in the butt. You could even lose pices or whole cuts if it can't be contained. it ruins the entire joy of getting a new cactus.

Thanks for all the info... I guess I was mainly right with how to go about it. I am pretty excited to be receiving some of these cuttings.... My first mescaline experience was 3 days ago... INCREDIBLE.
I have tried LSD... mushrooms quite a few times(cubes and cyans), but mescaline topped them all. I brewed up only 11"'s from a 24" San Pedro I acquired from MOD EDIT : NO SOURCES!!!!!. Unfortunately it came snapped in half from being stuffed in too small of a box diagonally, but this gave me the perfect excuse to prepare it! I boiled the brew for 2.5 hours twice... each time taking a pull of the liquid and starting over.
I then boiled both parts of the liquid down to what I thought was quite a bit of greenish brown liquid, but ended up being about only 3-4 Oz's. I thought for sure I messed up, but I drank it anyway... It was way too easy to drink.... just plugged my nose and chased with peach tea. There was no taste... no stomach pains... nothing. But within 2 hours I was definitely experiencing my new fav. psychedelic!
Sorry to get off topic, but it's pretty exciting.
